Gold Emery did everything right in the North Welsh National, but was against a horse who had a lower handicap.

So, Gold Emery had to settle for second spot, and it was on the cards for the last half a mile, with the winner cruising and Jack Tudor waiting.

Plantaroma is a horse I'd never touch again, and I'd recommend everyone else to do the same. She should have won that race yesterday based on the form of her runs, but there's a reason why she hasn't won a race yet. Headcase of a horse, who simply will never win a race.

The Long Point made hard work of his short odds. I was not confident that he was going to win, but he did, and he did make me sweat.

Diamond Dealer 10/3 (1pt) – Wetherby 2.25

As far as Class 4 (0-120) handicaps go, this is a decent little race, and it wouldn't surprise me if two or three of them progress past their current handicap marks and find themselves in a better race later in the year.

Diamond Dealer beat one of my selections a couple of runs back, and I was very impressed by him that day. He jumped brilliantly, travelled strongly and stayed the three miles comfortably.

Last time out over four miles in the Borders National at Kelso, he was given a very positive ride, but didn't see the race out. It's not a surprise that he didn't stay the trip, as he set a very strong pace. The drop back to three miles is a huge plus, and I think he can carry on from where he left off at Chepstow.

The form of the Chepstow race has been boosted by a couple of horses, who have gone on to win since.

Love Of Neymore 11/4 (1pt) – Ludlow 2.42

A couple of mares are interesting in this race at this trip, but Love Of Neymore has the solid form, and it's hard to go against the level of horses she has been against in recent runs.

I Am The Moon and Magical Maggie arrive in decent form over hurdles, and both might be better for the step up in trip, but it is an unknown. On the other hand, Love Of Neymore is proven, and has been competing in some good three miles races.

The win over Champagne Chic looks like a solid form line to follow. The runner-up has gone on to win two times since, beating progressive horses on both occasions. On her other runs, Love Of Neymore has been behind Ma Shantou and Ace of Spades, both have improved since.

She unseated her rider early in the race last time out, so if she is still confident with her jumping, she is the one to beat.
