Exeter 1.35
Indy Five has a 569-day absence to overcome which is a worry but does have the form to win this convincingly. He beat Midnight Tour last time out by a neck and that horse is now rated 147 whereas Indy Five is 112. He also beat the Lucinda Russell trained Big River in a point to point and is now rated 144. All in all if ready to go first time Indy Five should take a bit of stopping for a trainer who has won with three of his last five runners.
Exeter 2.05
Calipto looks well handicapped for a horse beaten 10 lengths by Tea For Two just five runs ago. That was just one of some good runs for Paul Nicholls but even the runs for Venetia Williams look good and he again should be hard to beat.
Sandown 3.05
Beggars Wishes won well on chase debut and it’s a race that has had the form boosted. He looks to have plenty improvement in him and should be up to winning this.

What do you think of Sheisdiesel in the last at Dundalk? Has been knocking on the door recently and has Colin Keane on board. I also like Piper Bomb in the 7 but maybe carrying too much weight.
Won’t put you off either. The fact Keane is on SID you would think they mean business tonight but for me there are better h’capped horses in the race but it’s whether they are on a going day or not such as Honor Oak, Northern Suprise and even Poetic Choice has a 10lb claimer up which really puts him into the picture which is why I’ve left it alone.
Piper Bomb has been consistent and certainly has ew claims and jockeys 5lbs will help

I see On The Blind Side is popular on here so good luck but it’s a very tricky race to be getting involved with, White Moon is on my Cheltenham shortlist and On The Blind Side is another unbeaten horse but giving away 5lb will make his job harder, then we have probably the forgotten horse of the race in Springtown Lake, we have to remember this horse was eight lengths clear jumping the last and going further clear until stumbling and coming down in his last run
Definitely a watching race for me
On the blind side wins hard held by 9 lengths 9/4 into 6/5 glad I didn’t pay any attention to this.

I have been going on about it for a while now and it’s one of the equine areas we have been supporting and will continue to support through raising awareness and funds, America’s Wild Horses and Burros as I have said previously are in serious threat of extinction thanks to the people who were entrusted with saving them, the BLM “Bureau of Land Management” have tens of thousands of wild horses and burros locked up in holding pens and keeping them off the land that was set aside for them and land they would help maintain,
The fire season has been one of the worst ever and these wild fires in California are terrible, they are affecting everyone and taking lives which is terrible but from an equine point of view it is also affecting everyone from racing stables to riding schools to wild horses and it’s frustrating that there is a free solution for helping to minimise the risk of these wild fires, Wild Horses are the perfect answer but instead of protecting them and letting them do what they do best, authorities are rounding them up and keeping them in holding pens until they are moved on to be slaughtered, not only are wild horses good for the land but they are also one of the most beautiful sights you can see and over 80% of Americans want them saved.
They call it the fuel on the ground “grass” and after an exceptionally wet winter and spring there is plenty of dense grass and brush that dried out and represented a very serious fire hazard as we are now seeing.
Wild Horses can prevent catastrophic fires because they are able to consume dry, fire-prone vegetation over vast areas of the west. horses also eat the young poison oak, scrub oak, tips of buck brush and star thistle (before the spikes come on) and the grasses as they browse, also horses move relatively fast as they graze, compared to cows so they can cover vast areas quickly.
It has been so sad to hear that one ranch had lost 29 horses that had been burned to death in the wild fires, I also posted a video showing one fire at a separate ranch but i don’t know what happened to it, which is a shame because the racing club supports the welfare of all horses and not just the thoroughbred racehorse,
I have been invited to California next year to see the American Wild Horses and Burros and to see the work so many people are doing to save them from slaughter, I will now also be going to see some of the ranches affected by these wild fires and to see how people are rebuilding their properties and their lives
We have a couple of sayings at our racing club “all equine lives matter” and “a horse is for life, not just racing” and some of our members have certainly stood up to be counted for the causes we support, which isn’t just horses but also the homeless and our Secret Santa which was the idea of one member for us to give less fortunate children a little bit extra at Christmas, all our members were due a very nice return for our first year running with five visits to the winners enclosure and quite a few have donated various amounts “some quite large” to these causes
