A poor round of jumping by The Bomber Liston and a different set of tactics made it difficult to do anything at Bangor. A wasted journey and the winner proved me well wrong as I didn't think he was going to stay the trip.
Newton Abbot 6:00 – Courtland 7/2 (2pt)
When I tipped up Courtland in the Market Rasen Summer Plate I thought we were very unlucky to bump into Born Famous who was a handicap blot.
People raved over Born Famous' ride by Harry Cobden, but he was on the best horse in the race at the weights by a country mile and he could've won by more if he had the horse positioned to do so. With that being said, I thought Courtland did extremely well to finish as close as he did behind the winner and I think the form is rock-solid with the front two pulling 9L clear of the third. Though I think it's good form I think it's very harsh to raise a horse by 6lbs for a horse who didn't even win, I think that needs to change as it seems very unfair on connections who could rise through the weights without getting any win as they could potentially bump into a well-handicapped one. Despite the rise in the weights, I think he is the play in this race and he could take some stopping over 2m 7f as he wasn't stopping over 2m 5.5f at Market Rasen last time out.
This is enough tough handicap on paper, but the Summer Plate is a tough race every year and he would've been a runaway winner if it wasn't for the Iain Jardine gambled horse, so based on that I think he will go one better. Peter Bowen hasn't had a winner in the last 14 days, but he has only had 3 runners in that times frame, but for the start of this jumps season he has been in great form, operating at a 26% SR from 88 runners (23 winners), so I don't doubt the form of the yard.

For some unknown reason, Cannes Do 8.15 Rosc is on my tracker. It’s done nothing as far as I can see and steps up another 4 furlongs. But I’ll have a go at it ew extra @ 70s top 7, just in case.

Good last night bar Nimtz Class at 11/10 going off 2/5 and letting the Trixie down but main bet won easily . 2/1 didn’t last it went off ridiculous 5/2 and won by 78 lengths.
BIG night at Philadelphia and a right treat for a Tuesday night with G1 and G2 races along with other quality at here biggest meeting of the year. Horseshoe few good Stakes races too.
