JOHN HIGGINS is 6-1 third favourite with Paddy Power to win snooker's World Championship next year after escaping a lengthy ban.

The former champion had been 8-1 as bookies and punters awaited the long-delayed verdict from snooker authorities.

Higgins is likely to return in November after being cleared of match-fixing alegations.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is The Crucible favourite at 7-2 with Mark Selby 11-2 and reigning champion Neil Robertson 8-1.

Others:  7-1 Ding, 10-1 Murphy, 12-1 Williams, 14-1 Allen, 16-1 Maguire and 25-1 Carter.
