PAT FENLON is 1-4 to win the Scottish Premiership sack race following Hibs' 1-0 loss to Hearts in the Edinburgh derby.
Fenlon is on the brink and Scots firm McBookie.com are taking bets on who'll be the next Easter Road boss. They made assistant boss Jimmy Nicholl the 4-1 favourite followed by ex-Aberdeen gaffer Jimmy Calderwood on 7-1 and former club skipper Ian Murray at 8-1.
McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: “If Hibs want the cheap option Jimmy Nicholl is the obvious choice. However, a move for Ian Murray would go down well with the fans and he has proved at Dumbarton he is a top manager in the making.”
Next Hibs manager: 4/1 Jimmy Nicholl 7/1 Jimmy Calderwood 8/1 Ian Murray 10/1 Kenny Shiels 10/1 Neil Warnock 12/1 Billy Reid 12/1 John Hughes 12/1 Allan Moore 16/1 Derek Adams 16/1 Craig Brown 18/1 Ray McKinnon 20/1 John Collins 25/1 Alex McLeish.
He’s better as a player than a manager by a long shot but if they could afford him they could get Roy Keane
Shields is the name I’m hearing alot at 10/1, obviously it is a whisper but I’m passing it on, its the same name I’ve heard a few times since the derby defeat.
Ian Murray must be worth a few quid, Hibs fans love an ex-player and there would be doom lifted with the fans if he was appointed.
Also done a very decent job in his short time at Dumbarton but I don’t think Craig Gordon would be welcome though.
Mr Kop, would Murray go? He’s not been in Dumbarton job long so might be better serving his apprenticeship before going to Hibs where it looks an almost impossible task at the moment.
