Greg’s Bet of the day: Early start in Japan for Wednesdays Double

Wednesday Bet of the Day sees me return to Japan on Wednesday morning backing the top 2 to secure all 3 points.

Nagoya Grampus vs Vegalta Sendai

2 sides at opposite ends meet in Nagoya as 2nd placed Nagoya Grampus host 17th placed Vegalta Sendai. With leaders Kawasaki looking uncatchable already, Nagoya will look for another 3 points and consolidate a top 3 spot and a place in AFC Champions League qualifiers. Sendai meanwhile need 3 points to try move out of the relegation zone.

Nagoya come into this in mixed form winning 2 of their last 6 losing 3. Two of those defeats were against the champions Kawasaki while the other was against the improving Antlers. Nagoya are however unbeaten in all 9 games against sides in the bottom half remarkably keeping clean sheets in them all. Nagoya have won 3 of their 4 matches at home against bottom half sides.

Vegalta come into this winning their last game 2-1 against fellow strugglers Oita. That was only their second win of the season and both of those came at home. Sendai are winless in their 9 away games losing 6. They’ve conceded in all 9 of their away games conceding 20 goals, only bottom side Yokohama have conceded more (24).

Shonan Bellmare vs Kawasaki Frontale

Last years champions Kawasaki Frontale travel to the Shonan BMW stadium to face Shonan Bellmare. Kawasaki are once again clear at the top of the table whereas Shonan lie in 14th, just 5 points above the relegation zone.

Shonan come into this suffering back to back defeats. Both of defeats were away so will be glad to be back home where they’ve only lost 1 of their 7 games. Despite that they’ve only scored in 2 of their 7 home games and they were both against sides in the relegation zone.

Kawasaki are still unbeaten this season winning an impressive 15 of their 18 games. Kawasaki have netted in every game this season and no side have scored anywhere near their 46. Frontale have won 5 of their 6 away games scoring 21 goals conceding only 4.
