FOR 16 holes last Sunday I thought I was on for three wins-in-a-row. Unfortunately Rory McIlroy had other ideas.

I should be happy with three wins and two seconds in the past six weeks but must admit I am a bit disappointed he failed to finish it off. But at least we got an each-way.

This week we can hopefully get back on track at the WGC-Cadillac Championship on the recently re-vamped Blue Monster course.

Even taking into account Rory’s blow-up at the end of the fourth round last week he still remains favourite for the WGC this week. He has had top-10 finishes in the last three years here, his best being third behind Justin Rose.

Can he make up for last week? I think he can but at the odds being offered I would only back him to win.

With a first and two seconds in the five tournaments he’s played this season Dustin Johnson looks on top of his game.

He won the WGC-HSBC in Shanghai, China, quite easily in November, was second in his last two strokeplay tournaments and can go one better this week.

I’ve mentioned before I think Johnson will do big things this season and I’ve no reason to change my mind. He leads the stats in GIR, scoring average and birdie average, in fact is in the top 10 in most of them and I’m backing him heavily this week.

In eight tournaments played this season Matt Kuchar has been out of the top 10 jus once. His greens in regulation is over 70 per cent and his driving accuracy is 64 per cent which ranks him 44th.

On the new Blue Monster course the long hitters will have to be accurate with a lot of water coming into play but Kuchar’s form this season is enough for me to back him each way this week.

Sergio Garcia has four top-11 finishes in four PGA Tour events this season and also won the Qatar Masters in January. He finished last year tied third behind Tiger and Steve Stricker but the course has changed quite a bit since then and maybe past successes here won't come into play.

It wilI be like playing a new course in some respect. I think Garcia is going to have a good season and will quite happily back him here.

Keegan Bradley was playing steady golf in the Honda Classic last week but a poor fourth round put paid to a top-five finish. He’s not had the greatest of starts this season with one top-10 finish in eight starts but could be turning the corner.

In the Puerto Rico Open Rafael Cabrero-Bello looks a good bet. Although he didn’t do too well in Dubai he finished third and fourth in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

In most European tournaments he seems to be threatening at some stage and I’ll take back him each-way.

Thanks for the comments guys. Great to have a good run and hope it continues.
JW regarding Victor Dubuisson,he won the Turkish Airlines, second in the Accenture Matchplay, third in Dubai and fifth in the Volvo this season. His form is good at the moment and at the prices you mentioned is worth a small each way wager.

  16. Rustychest 10 years ago

Everything I’m placing bets on today seems to be coming through, so I’ve placed some small stake e/w and top finish bets on golf long-shots in the mentioned tournaments. How long did it take for golf final results to come through again?

Guys I’m new to the site and golf betting, can someone please explain this points system you are using. 2.5 points ew etc Thanks :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Steven, if you have a 20pt staking plan each point can be any value. For example if it’s £1 then 2.5pts ew would be £2.50 ew.

  19. Steven Morrison 10 years ago

How would you describe this then fixit

    Dustin Johnson (2.5pts ew) 16-1

    Thanks for the help

    Steven

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Steven, what do you mean ‘how would I describe it?’ In points systems bets are usually rated from 1-10 on confidence factor. When placing a bet you don’t need to include the points beside it.

Mr F, what I was asking re golf was in regards to how long these tournaments actually take to be settled. I remember I placed a bet a couple months ago and weeks later I mysteriously had money in my balance which didn’t seem right. I had to ask support where it came from and it turned out to be a bet on one of these tournaments I had forgotten all about. I don’t exactly follow it.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Rustychest, should be settled as soon as tournament finishes. No reason for any delays.

  21. Rustychest 10 years ago

How long do these two tournaments run for? ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

      Rustychest, 4 days.

  22. Rustychest 10 years ago

    Thank you very much sir
