THE inaugural Rocco Forte Open will be played over a composite course combining holes from both the East and West Coast in Vendura, Sicily.
The 7217 yards, par 71, has a linksy feel about it with the final six holes running adjacent to the coast.
There isn’t a great field but at least there are some good prices on offer and to me James Morrison looks a good pick. He had a couple of top-six finishes on the Sunshine Tour, in South Africa, at the end of February and beginning of May.
This season he has just one missed cut and had five top 15s. He has been working hard on his game and has improved statistically on GIR, putts per round and a few more.
He has more than 30 rounds averaging under 70, one of only five players on the Tour. With his improvement and the linksy feel to the course I have faith the Englishman can be there on Sunday.
1.5pts ew James Morrison (Bet365, 22-1)
