ACE VENTURER has often been described as the best golf tipster on the internet – and he just proved it.
Our man topped anything he's done in the past by landing a 2322-1 double on Sunday.
First he watched 22-1 chance Hideki Matsuyama romp to victory in the WGC-HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.
Then came the coup de grace – 100-1 rookie American Cody Gribble's four-shot triumph at the Sanderson Farms PGA Tour event in Mississippi.
When Ace suggested Gribble last week all I could think of was Officer Dribble – and I had to admit of not knowing anything about him.
He won the last card available to play on Tour and this was just his eighth event but Ace saw something he liked.
In his preview last week he wrote: “While watching the Safeway Open I have to say I liked the look of first-year rookie Cody Gribble. The 26-year-old American had a bogey-free first round of 67 before finishing T8.
“He was one of 14 rookies to make the cut but the only one to finish in the top 10. He finished 40th in the Web.com Tour list, securing his 2016-17 PGA Tour card.
“His stats on the Web.com were excellent with driving accuracy of 62.87%, GIR 69.72% and putting average of 1.773 and if he continues in that vein he could be a surprise package here.”
He certainly sprang a surprise and I hope loads of you were on both Gribble and Matsuyama.
Watch out for Ace's latest golf tips on Tuesday.
