NRG Stadium in Houston will host Portugal’s Group K clash with DR Congo in the World Cup on Wednesday evening.
Roberto Martinez’s side are widely tipped to enjoy a deep run in this summer’s showpiece, and the expectation is that they will get up and running with three points at the first attempt.
Portugal arrive in good form, posting seven wins from their last 10 matches, scoring two or more goals in six of those victories.
However, the Selecao have looked shaky at the back, so it may take a couple of goals to get the job done against a DR Congo side who do possess genuine attacking quality in their ranks.
England To Score 2+ (Wednesday, 21:00)
England will be looking to hit the ground running at the 2026 World Cup when they come up against Croatia at AT&T Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Three Lions stormed through qualification with eight wins from eight, keeping eight clean sheets in the process.
Croatia also came through their own qualifying campaign with relative ease, but they could hardly have asked for a tougher opener in North America.
Zlatko Dalic’s team have conceded two or more goals in recent friendly defeats to both Brazil and Belgium, and that trend could well continue against Thomas Tuchel’s star-studded side.
