Senegal have previous when it comes to shocking France at a World Cup and will try to summon the spirit of 2002 when they face Les Bleus tonight in New Jersey.
The French were world champions and heavy favourites when they kicked off the tournament in Japan 24 years ago but slumped to a shock 1-0 loss against the African nation.
Senegal now have an even stronger team but will have to upset the odds once more, with Bet365 pricing them at 6/1 for another surprise win.

Didier Deschamps probably has the strongest squad at the World Cup but France haven't looked like world beaters in their warm-up games.
Another African nation, Ivory Coast, beat them 2-1 on French soil and Les Bleus have conceded in their last five outings.

The other game in Group I tonight looks like a mismatch as Iraq go up against in-form Norway.
The Norwegians were the most impressive side in European qualifying, racking up eight successive wins and beating Italy home and away.
Erling Haaland scored an incredible 16 times on the road to North America and it's hard to see Iraq's defence coping with the giant striker if he's in form.

Goal difference could be key in this group so I'd imagine the Norwegians will keep their foot on the gas for 90 minutes.
Combining a win for Norway with over 3.5 goals pays 6/4 at Bet365 while backing them to win both halves is also decent at 5/4.
Argentina vs Algeria
World champions Argentina get their title defence underway in one of the late games and the clash with Algeria could be their toughest test in Group J.
The Algerians have lost just one of their last 18 games and could be a tough nut to crack for Lionel Scaloni's side.
Patience could be key for the Argentinians and backing most goals to come after the break looks decent value at 11/10 with Bet365.
There's some fiery competitors out there and this is a match that has the potential to boil over. Over 3.5 cards stands a good chance at 4/6 but I'm more drawn to the 6/4 on offer for both sides to pick up two cards or more.
