Cologne v Schalke (Sun 5pm)
Domenico Tedesco and his team were hard done by in the DFB Pokal, when Eintracht Frankfurt narrowly beat them in the Veltins-Arena, with a bit of help of the referee.
Schalke’s defensive stability – they’ve only conceded seven goals in their last ten games, keeping six clean sheets in the process – should hold them in good stead going into the derby-like game against not-so-distant neighbours Köln.
The Billy Goats have little to play for and are all but relegated but beating Schalke is enough of a reward in itself.
Köln’s poor defence – they’ve been the leakiest of all Bundesliga teams – might suggest plenty of goals but then again, Tedesco’s team have been perfectly happy to grind out results. Köln will do anything to spoil their party; however, Schalke will probably do what they have done best. And win 1-0.
