Fridays top tips 2

The FA Cup fifth round gets underway tonight and it's hard to see Aston Villa slipping up at home to Cardiff City.

Villa's form hasn't been great and Tuesday's 4-1 battering at Crystal Palace made it just one win in their last four matches.

But they should still have too much quality for a Seagulls side who are fighting against the drop in the second tier.

Aston Villa vs Cardiff City top betting tips

Unai Emery will demand a reaction after that dismal result against Palace so I'd imagine he will field a pretty strong side for this cup tie.

He will probably freshen things up a bit though and January signings Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio stand a good chance of starting.

The Spaniard hit a double in Villa's last home game against Chelsea so he looks decent value at 7/5 for anytime scorer against Cardiff.

The Championship side surprisingly landed Ajax midfielder Sivert Mannsverk on loan in January and the Norwegian is something of a card machine.

He has picked up three yellows already and was sent off on his last visit to Villa Park in the Conference League. So Mannsverk looks good value at 12/5 with BoyleSports for another card tonight.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Sunderland top betting tips

Sunderland's title bid has hit the rocks in the EFL Championship after back-to-back defeats so they desperately need to bounce back against Sheffield Wednesday tonight.

The Black Cats are now 13 points behind leaders Leeds United and eight adrift of second-placed Sheffield United so they're falling out of the running for automatic promotion.

With 11 games to go, anything is still possible but Regis Le Bris' men face another tough assignment tonight against an Owls side who are just six points off the play-off pace.

Wednesday have also hit a slump, with just one win in their last five, so it could be a slow start with both teams low on confidence.

That makes the half-time draw worth a look at evens with BoyleSports while backing most goals to come after the break pays 21/20.

Partick Thistle v Livingston top betting tips

There's action in the SPFL Championship tonight as well and Livingston have the chance to go top when they visit Partick Thistle.

Tuesday's 3-2 home win over Morton moved the Lions just a point behind leaders Falkirk, who aren't in action until tomorrow.

If David Martindale's men hit the summit tonight it will pile pressure on the Bairns, although the title favourites will have two games in hand.

Thistle are still in a state of flux after sacking boss Kris Doolan and caretaker boss Brian Graham steered them to a 1-1 draw with Airdrie last weekend.

Multi-tasking Graham also leads the line, as well as bossing Thistle's women's team, and he scored in that draw with the Diamonds.

Another goal for the player-gaffer pays 12/5 at Bet365 tonight and that looks decent value.

Livingston are usually pretty good value for corners so the 11/10 on offer for over 10.5 flag kicks looks a safer option for punters.

I might be wrong but I can see Villa scrapping this f.a cup tie especially after their heavy defeat to Palace. Villa face a tough test against Club Brugge midweek which is worth a lot more than the f.a cup. For that reason I’m going to have a small stake on Cardiff at 18/1

It’s a good idea, think i’ll have a crack at doing it that way also. How can the Villa manager play a strong team when they play Tuesday night, I just can’t see it.

    Each team 1+ card @ 21/20 (bet365)

    Dundee vs St Johnstone
    Ross County vs Kilmarnock
    Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd

This might not be for everyone for an evens bet ( can stick Edinburgh derby in to make it 5/4 ) but think this a great price/bet.

Dundee vs St Johnstone is normally a tasty game as it is as its a bit of a rivalry with there being 4,5,6,6,7 cards in their last five games, add in the fact this is a ‘6 pointer’ between the two teams at the bottom of the table 3 points apart.

Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd have no love lost between the pair and can be known in parts as the New Firm derby. Expect this to be a fiery tie with one point between both teams who are fighting for 3rd place and neither team have been shy of a card this season.

Ross county vs Kilmarnock should be tasty too, again with a point between both teams and both teams desperate to move away from the bottom two league places, of which they occupy the two spots above.

With so much to play for just across these three games each one will be hard fought affairs against a team in direct competition to their place in the league.

    Small stake

    Each team 2 + cards treble @ 10/1 (bet365)

Will have other bets up over the weekend but definitely on this over the two days.

    Good luck 🤞

      Over 3.5mgs @ 1/1 (bet365)

Smaller stakes effort, shouldn’t be far off.
