Amiens v PSG (Fri 7.45pm)
Paris SG travel to Amiens tonight, four days before their French Cup final against minnows Les Herbiers on Tuesday evening. The Parisians were lucky to get a draw last weekend at home against Guingamp (2-2). Paris SG are already champions and they can reach the 100 points mark if they win their three remaining league games, starting with this one.
They will have to play better than in their last two matches though, against Bordeaux (1-0) and Guingamp (2-2). It seems that a lot of the Paris stars are already thinking about the World Cup or about their holidays. Manager Unai Emery is trying to keep the players focused and under pressure but it is provinf difficult.
Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler and Thiago Silva are all out for this game, but Emery has enough depth in his squad to replace them and still have a very competitive team. This game will be a rehearsal for the Cup final on Tuesday so players will play for their place in that game too.
Paris SG have only lost twice away from home this season, at Strasbourg and at Lyon, and they are confident they will get back to winning ways in Amiens. However, they will have to raise their game.
The home side has been one of the surprises of the season so far. They are currently 13th in the table with 41 points and are safe. They will be in Ligue 1 next season which is a wonderful achievement. They have never faced Paris SG at home in the league before and it will be such a prestigious occasion.
The players will play with no pressure at all. But I still expect Paris to get the three points even if they are not at their best.
