THREE rounds of fixtures left to go in the French second tier and Brest have a fantastic opportunity to seal a return to Ligue 1 after an absence of seven years.
They sit in second position and still have an outside chance of pipping leaders Metz to the title bit most importantly are seven points ahead of third-placed Troyes with nine points left to play for.
They've ended the season in terrific form with 5 straight wins all but securing them promotion – they travel to second-bottom Beziers who are all but doomed and need a miracle to stay in the league but thave certainly given their fans some entertainment with and incredible 27 goals scored in their last 5 matches. More of the same tonight.
AS Beziers vs Brest (7pm)
In a league where goals have been at a premium this season, Beziers are doing their best to go out in style and I'm expecting their gung-ho attitude to continue tonight as they need to win to delay relegation for at least another week.
They've seen an incredible 27 goals scored in their last 5 games (1-3, 1-3, 6-5, 1-1 and 4-2 – F11 A16) and it's hard to imagine them keeping this Brest side at bay given victory secures promotion to Ligue 1 and they have scored at least 2 goals in each of their last 5 games.
Brest have found the net in 18 of their last 19 away games but have also conceded in 13 of their last 15. Based on how Beziers have approached matches over the last month I wouldn't be surprised to see another high-scoring game with both sides contributing.
Beziers may be hanging on for dear life but are certainly giving it a go and are more than capable of getting on the scoresheet and if they can we'll see at least three goals tonight and Brest celebrating promotion.
