FOR the second time in three weekends bookies took a hammering from backers of big accumulators featuring the favourites.

The 14 most popular teams in accumulator bets all won on Saturday ad Coral estimated a £10million loss for Britain's high street betting shops.

Spokesman Simon Clare said: “Football punters have had the most incredible start to 2014 winning over £40m from bookmakers. Our consolation is the fact there are several months left in the season with a World Cup to follow so there is plenty of time to use the many tales of punter success to attract even more customers and bets on football.”

An online customer at coral.co.uk placed two £1 12folds and won £51,900. One of the successful bets included a correct score of Manchester City to win 4-2 against Watford.

A customer in Southampton won £4942 for a £5 bet after predicting 15 correct while at the other end of the country a customer in Irvine, Scotland won £5460 for a £5 fivefold.

The 14 most popular sides were Man City, Liverpool, Southampton, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, Swansea, Sunderland, Hull, Cardiff, Luton, Swindon, Rangers and Brighton.

All were odds-on favourites except Cardiff and in my Daily Record column in Saturday I tipped them all to win – but not as 14-timer which if course I never do.

all footy faves with the exception of Sampdoria.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

cooldude, it clearly says Saturday. Get over it – if you count Sunday you have the likes of Werder Bremen, Fiorentina and Galatasaray who would have tripped up many.

  2. zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

don’t think sampdoria were bankers in the same way as man city, arsenal, Liverpool etc, given their league position

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Sampdoria were never a banker, hence the price of 4-5, just a team a lot of us expected to win.

    • zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

exactly as I suggested mr f.

  3. debo1990 12 years ago

Haha goodstuff all these tipping sites are beginning to hit the bookies hard on the bottom line.
Keep up the good work Mr.f.

  4. Owen Scott 12 years ago

£5000 for a fiver fivefold who did he have?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Owen, didn’t say but I’ll try to find out.

  5. Greg Browning 12 years ago

Owen, he had Third Lanark to beat Gretna, haha!

You have to laugh when the bookes come out with these statements! You don’t here a pipe out of them when they have won millions ( last Saturday for example was torture for punters )

Hope they continue to get hammered! :)

    • zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

      third Lanark ???
are 1st and 2nd Lanark any good ???

    • swany 12 years ago

Their nickname was the Hi Hi,as a kid I went to see Rangers play them at their home ground Cathkin park, reputedly the best playing surface in Scotland.

    • raaljaca 12 years ago

Greg, just good publicity for them. Quite easy to claim they lost X amount on all these games but how much did they win on the other matches? Ross County would have bust thousands of coupons and every coupon involving Bundesliga games would be down too.

  6. zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

    mr fixer.
u were peed off with scunny yesterday, well a mate of mine done an 8 fold, then saw on live score ‘int’ in the score column.
then he heard the game had been abandoned, so thought he had at least got a 7 fold up.
guess his reaction when I told him the game had been restarted and daggers had equalised.
there were 8 words in his text and 6 were swear words.

  7. Davie-S 12 years ago

Not all were odds against apart from Cardiff, i had two of them in my treble, Swansea and Cardiff both odds against, was let down my St Mirren against the jags..

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Davie-S, we’re talking from Coral’s point of view and they have Swansea at evens but we’re splitting hairs here.

  8. steve o 12 years ago

just think of the damage if Ross county Peterborough and Scunthorpe had won.All well fancied by most dedicated football punters.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

steve o, I was surprised not to see Ross County on that list – the others were of course aways at over evens. But you’re right especially on S***horpe.

    • raaljaca 12 years ago

Wonder if S****horpe are aware of the bad feeling towards them eminating from this site Mr F??!!!!!!!

  9. Paul 12 years ago

Easy after the event sampdoria let me down but had a nice fourfold up over 2.5 keep up the good tips won more than I lost

    • zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

good ole scunny v Fleetwood today
looks like an under 2.5 game.

apart from 2 games scunny conceded 1 or less per home league game since jan 2013.
they have played 12 at home in the league, only 3 of these 12 games went over 2.5 goals
scunny concede only 9 in 12 home league games.

Fleetwood concede only 12 away in 13 games, 2 of those were own goals on Saturday.
in these 13 games only 3 went over 2.5 goals
Fleetwood not drawn any away this season.
It could go any way, my pick fleetwoods 1st away draw 1-1

  10. HenryH 12 years ago

Greg, my heart just bleeds for them, sob, sob, sob (take the sob whichever way you wish) And I totally concur with you last sentiment.

  11. zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

    havant v bishop Stortford

havant unbeaten in 9, winning 6.
won 7 of last 8 home, drawing the other.
scored in 27 of last 28 homes.

21 out of last 24 Stortford games been over 2.5 goals.
Stortford scored in 28 of last 29 away games.
25 of these have been bts.
Stortford won only 1 of last 7 away.

    over 2.5 7-10 bet victor.
btts 4-6 good for part of an acca

I fancy havant win NOT to nil
the only odds on this I can see is 53-20 at winner, whoever they are.

  12. zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

    auxerre v lens

auxerre unbeaten at home, scored in 14 of last 16 homes.
lens lost 1 of last 9 away, scored in 13 of last 15 aways
auxerre only let in 5 in 10 home league games, so im hoping with lens joint 2nd in the league they will find the net in a 1-1 or 2-1 defeat even
    btts 4-5 hills for me

    • zzzzzzzzz 12 years ago

      in summary
      scunny v Fleetwood under 2.5 4-5
havant v bishop Stortford btts 4-6
      auxerre v lens btts 4-5
      10 on 54 back
      and maybe btts treble
      scunny 5-6
      havant 4-6
      auxerre 4-5
      10 0n 55 back

jeez, is that the time, yes dear, will be up in a minute, just helping the punters lose some cash…zzzzzzzzzzz

  13. Colin (aust) 12 years ago

Mr F. I dont understand the bookie bashing. You get good stats from some of them. If they weren’t there we wouldn’t have all this fun?
So a big thanks again Mr F and those wonderful
    books.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain should have a good look at the betting options on just 1 match and ask themselves what those lines are all about. The mathematics are not of this world.
Anyway wish I could enjoy a pint with the winners and a porky pie. Ha

  14. kel 12 years ago

Gosh! why can’t i just win a staggering €800,000…hahaha mr fit amma just wire some amount to u and boom!! Off i go away from punting..lol

  17. macca the red 12 years ago

scunthorpe v fleetwood should be an overs game, scunthorpe have the luxury to change lots of players their squad is massive and with it been on sky should let rip at home, plenty of goals imo.

  18. jimmybee 12 years ago

Both teams to score in the dundee utd v st johnstone match and the scunthorpe game.
Also like the look of over 2.5 goals in each game
Whats the thoughts on this mr f

  19. macca the red 12 years ago

scunthorpe v fleetwood team news deon burton out for scunthorpe with a calf injury paul hayes will start in his absence.fleetwood town winger jeff hughes out with broken leg and striker jamille matt ankle also out for fleetwood.

    Real Soceidad V Elche

Soceidad have been scoring for fun at home and Elche are on a bit of bad run away at the moment. Sociedad have scored 19 goals at home in their last 5 games avergaing over 2.5 goals at home this season. 4 of those last 5 games are against teams from the bottom 8 in the league (Elche sitting one above the drop zone). Elche when beat don’t usually get hammered but they have had a reasonable run of games away from home Soceidad should be too strong here. I fancy there to be goals tonight with Elche more than capable of nicking one themselves.

Real Sociedad to win and over 2.5 goals 13/10
Real Sociedad to score over 2.5 goals 2/1 *small stake

  21. raaljaca 12 years ago

    DUNDEE UNITED V ST JOHNSTONE

    Dundee United have conceded 6 penalties this season second only to Hearts, 8 penalties ( but also +2 pts :) ) Given he is scoring regularly and is also the penalty taker, Saints Stevie May looks a decent bet at 15/8 to score at anytime. United haven’t become a bad team but are struggling and hopefully that will continue tonight;

STEVIE MAY TO SCORE AT ANYTIME 15/8

Small stakes on the usual 1.5 fhg and 3.5 match goals

    Should appear inplay

Fenerbahce v Konyaspor – Fenerbahce are top of the league by 7 points with this game in hand and at home they’ve drawn twice and won 7 out of 9 games so far.
Konyaspor have only picked up 2 points in 8 away games and can’t see them getting anything at fener even if it is 1st game after the winter break.

    Fenerbahce win 1/4

    Sociedad v Elche
Sociedad have only been beaten by Athletico once in their last 22 home games, with the run going back to November 2012 and have won the last 5 scoring 19 goals.
From Elche 9 away games in the league they won twice drew 3 and lost 4 although the last away win was back in October.

    Sociedad win 4/7

    £23.52 returns £46.20 @betvictor

Dundee Utd vs St Johnstone Tips

Steve May First Goal @ 11/2 (General)
    Gary Mackay-Steven to score Anytime @ 3/1

    Good luck everyone.

  30. ricman 12 years ago

1-0 already to Riga not on bet364 ,skybet suspended it before ko!

  31. Chris Guy 12 years ago

Raaljaca May to score anytime @ 15/8 is a great bet and the price will most likely be cut later today.

    • raaljaca 12 years ago

Chris, got it with Stan James. Looks decent as Utd are poor and he is scoring regularly. Would have gone with first goal but at 15/8 anytime seemed really generous. Are you shopping around for a decent online account now?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Chris, I hear Iwelumo will make his debut for Saints – I’m assuming alongside May and not instead of with the League Cup semi-final on Saturday.

  32. Lee woody 12 years ago

Robroy85, William hill have game in play already 0-1 down. Can’t find it on bet 365 myself

A boring morning took me all the way to the highly contested game in Liga leumit, israel 2nd tier. Hakoah ramat gan versus hapoel askhelon 11th and10th. 4pm
the home team have conceded 12/15 games winning nine of them the away have scored 13/15 league games.
I have never heard of either team before but will be going BTTS at 4/5 and home win and over 2.5 goals at 12/5. Bet365. Good luck if your interested.

i still cant get that scunthorpe team out of my head, i hope fleetwood humps them tonite.

  38. jamie180 12 years ago

2 games tonight in French L2 and 1 in Serie B and all 3 look a great shout for BTTS at odds of just over 5/1 with Ladbrokes. Here’s why……….
    Angers v Dijon
This fixture has produced 10 goals in last 2 meetings.
Angers have scored in 18 of last 20 home games.
Dijon have scored 14 goals in last 6 away games.
    BTTS is EVS with Ladbrokes

    Auxerre v Lens
Auxerre have scored in 13 out of last 15 home games.
Lens have scored 17 goals in last 6 away games.
    BTTS is 4/5 with Ladbrokes

    Crotone v Siena
Both teams have scored in 6 out of the last 7 meetings, producing 22 goals.
Crotone have scored in the last 16 consecutive home games.
Siena have scored in 14 of the last 15 away games.

    5/1 Treble looks fantastic !!

  41. Oor man in Napoli 12 years ago

I think i will also go for Siena. I noticed one thing on Saturday with the restart to Serie B, all the top teams dropped points or lost in games they should have won. I was watching Palermo and they looked rusty.
Siena have had two big games and proved themselves in both so they should be sharp. They are surely, even with those -7 points deduction, contenders for Serie A promotion.

I had Crotone v Palermo on last game before break for btts and Palermo to win. It was 1-2 on odds of 16/5. Serie B have lots of unders but when the better teams play each other its usually overs and it could be the same again.

    Small stake.
    Crotone v Siena
    Siena to win
    Siena to win and BTTS.
    Paolucci to score.

  42. oak 12 years ago

woohoo, just watched, played and won my first horse-race ever… blushing grey won @ flamingo park
