THAT'S the Nations League over and mixed results for the home countries on Thursday with wins for England and Wales and a second 1-0 defeat in four days for Scotland.

After the euphoria of beating Serbia to reach the Euro 2020 finals it's been back to reality for Steve Clarke and his squad as they missed out on promotion to the A league and a second bite at World Cup qualifying.

England had already lost out to Belgium but rounded off their campaign with an impressive 4-0 win over Iceland at Wembley. Coral reacted by making them 5-1 joint favourites to win the Euros next summer.

They are alongside Belgium at the head of the betting followed by France (11-2), Spain (7-1), Germany (8-1) and the Holland (9-1).

Mason Mount (1-6), Jack Grealish and Phil Foden (both 1-3) are all odds on to be in the final squad for the tournament and impressed against Iceland with Mount scoring and Foden bagging a double.

To win Group D at Euro 2020 it's 2-5 England, 10-3 Croatia, 11-1 Czech Republic and Scotland and England are 4-11 to go furthest of the home nations with Wales 10-3 and Scotland 6-1.

Midfielders to make England's Euro 2020 squad: 1-33 Jordan Henderson, 1-25 Raheem Sterling, 1-20 Jadon Sancho, 1-10 Declan Rice, 1-6 Mount, 1-3 Foden, Grealish, 2-5 James Maddison, Evens Kalvin Phillips, 11-10 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 6-4 James Ward-Prowse, Harry Winks, 2-1 Ashley Maitland-Niles, 9-4 Dele Alli and 3-1 Ross Barkley.

Well done to all the winners on Wednesday including Kevin Mac and SlipsTips on their match preview – Thursday is a quiet day ahead of the return to league football.

Worth a punt in my opinion. Shanghai not been in great form. Yes, Sydney will not be playing their strongest team however I believe they still have goals in them.

Euros-With a fully fit squad cant see past Belguim.

    • El Gooner 3 years ago

      They’re a b-tec France.
Packed with with quality but boring, functional football. They won’t win anything, if Southgate had a clue we would have beaten them. They play a 34 year old Vertonghen at left back & he plays with 2 attacking midfielders. 😡

France or spain look really strong imo. England with the squad we have should be up there but wont as the FA want a yes man in charge

    • maccathered 3 years ago

But but but Belgium are the best team in the World cause FIFA says so😂😂😂😂

  4. Deano86 3 years ago

England have as good a chance as any if Southgate plays to our strengths and we play our best attacking players and not 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfield players, France and England best 2 squads imo, wouldn’t rule out the Germans either and still not convinced about this Spain team.

    • El Gooner 3 years ago

He wont though. We’ve seen this repeatedly. Players such as Dier & Rice shouldn’t be in the squad let alone the starting 11. His insistence with Trippier is baffling. Play attacking football as we have the players for it. 5 at the back v Iceland, home & away🤮

    • Deano86 3 years ago

Your probably right gooner, rashford, kane and sterling is as good as your guna get up top it’s just getting it right behind them, like u say were most likely guna see 5 defenders and 2 holders against the best sides which is a shame.

    • El Gooner 3 years ago

      Exactly Deano.
If our holding midfielders were our 2 best players Id understand, but they’re 2 of our worst. Any half decent side will beat us with them in the team as it handicaps us creatively and through quality

    Eredivisie Sunday

Morning guys, glad that is over. There are two bets which stand out to me from the Dutch fixtures this weekend.
    RKC v Heerenveen

Heerenveen were outplayed by AZ in their last game, but they have enough going forward against the smaller teams in the league. Heerenveen scored 2+ in 3 of their last 4 games. RKC is one of the teams in the relegation zone. They conceded 2+ in their last 4. I think the difference in quality is too big in this game.

Heerenveen over 1.5 team goals @ 1.70 with BV

    AZ v Emmen

Another top side versus relegation strugglers. AZ had a difficult start of the season, but are finding their form now. In the win at Heerenveen they were really good. They brought in Martins Indi at the last day of the window last month and he has been a great addition to their defense, they concede a lot less now. In attack they are one of the best in the league. Emmen are second from bottom and couldn’t beat 10 men Vitesse in their last game losing 3-1. I think they are really poor and they are missing their Peruvian playmaker Pena in this one. He is coming back injured from international break and I think they have even less going forward now without him.

AZ -1.5 asian handicap @ 1.71 with BV

mr orange, do vitesse look good to score 2 at groningen, the odds are 5/4 and was thinking of making a treble and possibly a 4 fold?

    • mr. orange 3 years ago

      @aarron19888

I also had a look at the Groningen game, but they don’t concede much. Especially at home.

    Friday Football
    Osasuna v Huesca
    OSASUNA to win
    7/5 william hill

As we say “No team is as good or bad as the look”
Osasuna are in 13th place but they look slightly better than their place suggests, Osasuna has conceded 8 goals in 8 league games but 6 of those came in 2 games, Huesca are in their first season in La Liga after promotion and are still adjusting to it, they have yet to win and have scored 7 goals in their 9 league games, most people will be seeing this as a draw with Huesca being draw specialists this season, Huesca have 6 draws already and both Huesca and Osasuna have seen under 2.5 goals in 6 games each this season, Osasuna have won 3 of their league games and have in the whole been decent at the back, it does look a low scoring game but Osasuna should have enough to win this,
1-0 or 2-0 to Osasuna in my opinion

    Premier league
There’s a few games i like this weekend and tipping on what should happen but as we all know these are strange time for footballers playing more games then ever so i suggest sensible stakes. There are players missing for Prem clubs due to C19 and injuries so i will list them below this post.
Newcastle v Chelsea (Saturday 12.30pm kick off)
Chelsea to win -1 asian handicap at 1.850***** b365
Hakim Ziyech to score anytime at 15/8 B365
Chelsea are in good form league wise and if they are to be considered Title contenders then it’s games like these they need to win.I think with the likes of Ziyech for Chelsea he will be the key in this match as Newcastle will try and keep it tight and i’m taking him to score anytime also.

    Tottenham v Man City
Man City to win at 4/5

    Man Utd v West Brom
West Brom +1.5 asian handicap at 1.930

    Man City
    Nathan Ake out (hamstring Injury)
    Raheem Sterling unclear
    Aguero (in contention to return)
    Fernandihno (in contention to return)

    Chelsea
    Christian Pulisic out (injured)
    Kai Havertz out (c19)
Thiago Silva a doubt (late back from international duty)

    Man Utd
    Marcus Rashford doubtful
    Athony Martial doubtful
    Victor Lindelof doubtful

    Spurs
    Matt Doherty out (c19)

    Arsenal
    Mohamed Elneny out (c19)
    Thomas Partey out (Hamstring)

    Leicester
    Forfana doubt
    Hope this helps

    • gaz1105 3 years ago

Got to disagree with you on City macca, can’t see past a Spurs win at a very generously priced 7/2 (think now you can get 3/1) – think Mourinho will have them organised and look to hit with the pace of Son and Moura and with the high line Pep plays, there’s acres to expose in behind

I’m also on the long shot double of Spurs/Leicester @ 16/1

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Doherty out for Spurs is a blow imo,Leicester will lose at Liverpool for sure.

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Cheers macca. Fatigue and absences are sure to have an effect this weekend.

    • Drumtips 3 years ago

You’re sure Leicester will lose to Liverpool? What about all your injuries yere worse off than Leicester coming into this game in terms of players missing

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Liverpool have players coming back from injury we have cover for the defenders and Jota is ok.Liverpool always find a way and i’m confident we will win.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

I remember last season when we were due to play Leicester away everyone were saying we were going to get beat.We won 0-4 in what was a very easy game.

    • El Gooner 3 years ago

Agree on City & Chelsea Macca. Think people are underestimating City’s backline this season though they aren’t as strong going forward. Must win game for them considering their league position whereas you’d think Spurs would be delighted with a point.

Chelsea defo title contenders, summer signings finally playing together and looking dangerous.

Think Leicester will get a point with you though. What will your CB pairing be? Matip (who I rate) & ?

    • maccathered 3 years ago

      Fabihno hopefully

    • maccathered 3 years ago

I believe Liverpool have the best manager in world football, not only is he a tactical genious but he is also very good at working with what he has, some said he didn’t have a plan b when he moved to Liverpool well he’s proved everyone wrong on that one.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

It goes for the Italian and Spanish league’s also mr f they simply aren’t used to playing so many games in such a short space of time,Italians more than any other they hate playing midweek games and we have the champions league back also next week.
