IT wasn't a great night for most punters with two 0-0s in the Champions League and a weakened Spurs beating Chelsea on penalties.
Dynamo Kiev as expected beat Gent but no goals at Ferencvaros was a huge surprise after a 3-3 draw in Molde.
The Hungarians went through on away goals after earlier beating Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb so deserve their place.
Olympiakos duly booked their slot with a 0-0 draw at Omonia Nicosia after winning 2-0 in Athens.
It looked like going to plan in the EFL Cup when Timo Werner scored his first goal in Chelsea colours but after being outplayed in the first half Spurs netted late to force penalties and celebrated victory when Mason Mount's spot-kick missed the target.
So with Real Sociedad losing earlier it was a tough night and I hope to do better on Wednesday.
There are another three Champions League qualifiers and hopefully matches between Midtjylland vs Slavia Prague, PAOK vs Krasnodar and Red Bull Salzburg vs Maccabi Tel Aviv will provide us with some decent action.
There are four games in the Carabao Cup including a Brighton vs Man United rematch but surely it won't be as good as Saturday's thriller. Man City visit Burnley, Everton entertain West Ham and Newcastle travel to Newport.
We also have action from La Liga, including Real Madrid vs Real Valldolid, and Serie A where the big game is Lazio vs Atalanta.
And in Germany Bayern Munich aim to bounce back from Saturday's shock defeat at Hoffenheim by winning the Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund.
I've picked out a Top Treble and a goals treble. The first one features Everton and Newcastle and while both will make loads of changes they look as if they're taking this tournament seriously.
Both notched big wins in the previous round and fielded strong enough teams to make sure there were no dramas. If you have doubts about either of the duo wait until you see line-ups.
Complete the treble with Midtyjylland draw no bet at home to Slavia Praque as they try to reach the Champions League group stage for the first time. It's a massive game for the Danes and after a 0-0 draw in the Czech Rep they should complete the job.
I'm also on a goals treble starting with over 2.5 goals at Benevento vs Inter. Inter's last four have gone that way and at the weekend they defeated Fiorentina 4-3. Benevento won 3-2 at Sampdoria and four of their last five have gone over 3.5.
The last four meetings between Lazio and Atalanta have saw both teams scoring and we know about the attacking threat of the respective sides.
Make it a treble with over 2.5 goals at Salzburg. The Austrians should seal their place in the Champions League after a 2-1 win at Maccabi but I don'texpect them to take it easy after so many near misses in recent seasons.

All Saudi affair in the first game and again I fancy al nassr to come out on top. They completely dominated the last match against a team from their country but let me down by only netting once, todays opposition are better than sundays (it’s 2nd v 3rd in the Saudi league) so I’m just going for the straight win. Well Kf yeah it’s a game on paddy power you get 12 questions and have to choose whether to put all your pot on it or split it between them. If you haven’t played before you should have a free game after that I think you have to pay to play.
Yeah kf it’s on paddy power. Similar to the tv show “million pound drop” you start with a mythical £1k and at the end of 12 questions whatever you have left you keep. You can put it all on any question or choose to split the amount. So far I’ve went £1k on all 5 questions and got them right, what I’m wondering is if I split a pot on a question do I move onto the next question or am I stuck on the same question but with the reduced pot. It’s free to play. The Ts and Cs just say answer 12 questions, it doesn’t say answer them correctly. My thinking is if I stick my grand on this next question and get it right then am I guaranteed some sort of win because there would be 6 questions left and I could play it like this even if I got them wrong until the last one.
