THERE have been plenty of hits and misses on the more obscure leagues we find ourselves betting on.
Belarus have probably been the most popular one with just a handful of football matches taking place across the globe each night.
I've been wondering whether it's worth putting up tips so I was cheered last weekend when Ladbrokes sent me an email about an Irish customer who correctly backed six odds-against shots in Belarus, Burundi and Nicaragua at a combined 4266-1.
I wonder what his thoughts are on this weekend's card? I correctly tipped both Belarus Cup semi-final first-leg ties in midweek with wins for Slavia Mozyr and Dynamo Brest and I'm hoping for some improvement in my league form.
Results have been fairly unpredictable over the first three weekends but one outstanding team have emerged.
Bgu Minsk are the only side to win three out of three and anyone watching live streams will have been impressed by their attacking intent and quality in what looks to be overall a limited league.
On Saturday they travel to Torpedo Zhodino who have six points and initially I thought the away price was massive at 5-2 with bet365.
But a bit of digging revealed their rotten h2h record in Zhodino where they haven't won since 2001.
That's a concern but I prefer form to previous meetings and Bgu have looked good so I'm happy to take a chance on draw no bet as a Super Single at 7-5 with sportingbet.
Earlier in the lunchtime clash second-placed Slutsk are at home to Vitebsk with both sides winning two from three. I'd favour Slutsk at 5-4 with Paddy Power but can't rule out a draw – and in this match Greg fancies bookings so check out his post here.
The late game sees Gorodeja entertain Dinamo Minsk and both these sides have won one and lost two. Dinamo edge the head-to-head record but this has the feel of a draw.

Looking ahead to Belarus on the weekend and Energetik bgu minsk look huge playing away to Torpedo Zhodino.
Energetik sit top of the league and rightly so based on what football I have watched so far of the Belarus league. Torpedo on the other hand didn’t look all that when I watched them.
Think the odds are reflecting the league positions of which both teams finished last season Energetik 12th and Torpedo 6th.
Thankfully it doesn’t seem to be just me that has noticed this Energetik team being (so far) head and shoulders above the rest, Kyle b has also mentioned it so if the bets go down be sure to blame him rather than me 😂

I took Energetik DC at beginning of week as well at 4/5 ElGoon, defo should pickup a positive result today Torpedo are a very middle of the road side. I’ve watched a lot of this early season Belarus football and nothing suggests to me that the hosts will win this.

Good old Dundee eh…don’t want to hand United a title and chanting about loss of money despite being 1 of 6 clubs in Scotland insured against a health pandemic. Nobody but nobody gave two monkeys when Dundee were deducted 25pts in an attempt to Gerry meander the leagues for DFC to be relegated.
The integrity of the league was one of the reasons stated for deducting Dundee 25 points in 2010 , which could have killed the club.
Where is the sporting integrity by denying clubs, who have spent money on the belief they had a chance of promotion or avoiding relegation , the opportunity of doing it on the pitch ?
There can only be winners and losers in this situation but the SPFL board haven’t come out of it looking good.
The only thing I can see in all this is the club making all the statements are showing all the signs of a cover for financial stress.
