Türkiye will look to maintain their position at the top of Group D as they welcome Wales to Samsun tomorrow evening, and I’m happy to have a punt on the hosts to make the net bulge at least twice.
Türkiye bounced back from their 0-2 loss at home to Nations League finalists Croatia as they secured a dramatic 2-3 victory away at Latvia on Friday. That loss at home to the Croats was Stefan Kuntz’s sides' first defeat at home in a competitive match since September of 2020 – a run of 10 matches (W5-D5-L0).
After beginning their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign by snatching a point in Croatia and securing a narrow victory at home to Latvia, Rob Page’s men suffered a surprising 2-4 defeat at home to Armenia despite taking an early lead. The Dragons have recorded just three victories across their previous 10 competitive matches on their travels (W3-D3-L4), with those victories coming against Belarus, Bulgaria and Estonia.

Prior to their 0-2 defeat at home to Croatia, Türkiye had scored 28 goals across their previous 10 competitive fixtures on home turf – striking on multiple occasions in nine (90%) of them – and I’m backing The Crescent-Stars to bag another brace at home to a Wales defence that has shipped multiple strikes in six of their last eight competitive fixtures on the road.
