Euro 2024 Bet of the day

Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the EFL, and there’s one side in particular that I’m keen on to secure a low-scoring victory.

⚽️ Bolton Wanderers vs Accrington Stanley

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 League One

⏰ Tuesday 25th April, 19:45

Bolton will look to strengthen their position in the League One playoff places as they welcome relegation-haunted Accrington Stanley to the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Bolton stretched their unbeaten run in League One top six matches at the weekend as they defeated Shrewsbury 1-0 at home. lan Evatt’s men have now W13-D5-L3 at home this season, with that record changing to W8-D2-L1 when welcoming bottom-half sides. Bolton boasts the meanest defence at home in the English third-tier this term, with The Trotters registering 13 clean sheets and conceding just 12 goals across their 21 fixtures in front of their supporters.

Accrington suffered their eighth defeat across their previous nine League One matches, as they were beaten 1-0 away at Portsmouth. John Coleman’s visitors have won just three times on their travels this term (W3-D6-L12), with that defeat at Fratton Park at the weekend ensuring they have lost all eight of their trips away to teams positioned in 9th and above. Stanley have failed to score in 11/21 (52%) of their away matches this season, scoring a league-low 10 goals.

Bet of the Day

Bolton know they can move five points clear of seventh-placed Peterborough by defeating a struggling Accrington side that is three points adrift of safety. lan Evatt’s men have W8-D2-L1 of their home fixtures against bottom-half sides – and I expect them to collect another maximum against an Accrington side that has lost all eight of their trips to teams positioned in 9th and above.

To increase the odds, I’m happy to throw in under five match goals. There have been fewer than five goals in 12/13 of Bolton’s victories in front of their supporters in League One term, whilst only one of Accrington’s 12 defeats on the road has broken the over 4.5 goal-barrier.

  • Bolton Wanderers to Win & Under 4.5 Goals
  • Pays 17/20 (SBK)
