Looking to make it seven winners in a row, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on Aberdeen’s Europa League qualifier in Sweden, and I’m expecting to see goals, particularly from the home side.

Aberdeen travel to Gothenburg to take on reigning Swedish champions Häcken at the Bravida Arena on Thursday evening in the first leg of their Europa League playoff in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
After breezing past Welsh champions TNS, Häcken suffered a surprise elimination from the Champions League qualifiers as they lost on penalties to Faroese history makers KÍ Klaksvik. However, Per-Mathias Høgmo’s men thrashed Lithuanians Žalgiris 8-1 on aggregate in the previous round to set up this tie against an Aberdeen side aiming to qualify for the UEFA Cup/Europa League group stages for the first time since the 2007/08 season.
The reigning Swedish champions are also currently positioned in 2nd in the Allsvenskan table, just a single point behind leaders Elfsborg. The Wasps have been incredibly strong at home, winning 10/11 of their league outings on home soil (W10-D0-L1), including each of their previous nine.
It’s been a mixed start to the season for The Dons, as they played out a drab goalless draw on Livingston’s plastic pitch before falling to a 1-3 at home to Celtic in a match they caused the reigning champions a few problems. However, Barry Robson’s men did claim their first victory of the new season on Friday night, as they edged past in-form League One side Stirling Albion 1-2 in the League Cup.

Häcken have been banging the goals in front of their supporters all season long, with them incredibly scoring two or more goals in 13/14 (93%) of their Allsvenskan and Champions/Europa League qualifiers this campaign and even more remarkably, three or more in 12 (86%) of them.
Whilst the Swedes may cover the Over 2.5 goal barrier themselves, they have only recorded three clean sheets at home this season – and with The Dons possessing plenty of attacking talent themselves – I wouldn’t rule out Barry Robson’s visitors getting on the scoresheet in what promises to be an entertaining encounter in Gothenburg on Thursday.
