After returning to winning ways on Thursday thanks to Rangers’ victory over Ludogorets in the Europa League, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Scottish League Two, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Forfar Athletic vs Stirling Albion
🏴 League Two
⏰ Saturday 24 January, 15:00
Two clubs separated by a solitary point in the Scottish League Two table meet at Station Park tomorrow afternoon as sixth-placed Forfar host Stirling in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Jim Weir’s hosts have scored 30 goals across their opening 20 league matches this season, with 17 (57%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Loons have failed to score just twice at home this campaign – notching on multiple occasions in each of their past three – and will be confident of breaching a Stirling defence that has kept just two clean sheets in the league all season and none in their previous 15.
Alan Maybury’s visitors have scored 28 goals across their opening 20 matches in the Scottish fourth tier this term, with 18 (64%) of them coming on their travels.
The Binos have found the back of the net in all bar two of their road trips this term, striking 2+ goals in (70%) of them – including in each of their last four – and will look to continue their excellent goal-scoring record away from home against a Forfar defence that has kept just three clean sheets across their previous 18 league outings, shipping multiple goals in five of their last six.

Bet of the Day
Forfar’s matches have gone goal-crazy over the past couple of months, with their previous eight league matches averaging a whopping 4.13 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in seven (88%) of them, including in each of their last four at home (0-3, 2-3, 4-2 & 2-2).
Stirling Albion’s opening 10 away matches in the Scottish fourth tier this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.60 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in eight (80%) of them, including in each of their last four (2-3, 2-1, 2-1 & 4-1).
The previous two meetings between these two sides have produced 10 goals, with Over 2.5 Goals landing on both occasions (4-2 & 4-0), and I’m backing that trend to continue on Saturday.
- Over 2.5 Goals
- Pays 4/5 (Betfred/PaddyPower/Skybet)
