Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day actually kicks off in the early hours of Friday and focuses on the South American World Cup Qualifiers.

Venezuela vs Brazil

🇻🇪🇧🇷 South America – World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Friday 8th October, 00:30

Venezuela host Brazil at the Estadio Olímpico de la UCV on MD10 of the South American World Cup Qualifiers. This is a meeting between both the top and bottom sides.

As mentioned, Venezuela currently occupy bottom spot and it looks increasingly unlikely they’ll qualify for their first ever World Cup. After nine rounds of games, Venezuela have lost 7/9 games, collecting only four points. They’ve failed to score in five of those games, with them being the lowest goal scorers by a distance, scoring only five times. All seven of Venezuela’s defeats have went under 4.5 goals including their earlier meeting with Brazil which finished 1-0.

Brazil look set to keep up their record of appearing in every World Cup Finals, as they’ve won all eight of their qualifiers to date. After scoring nine goals in their first two qualifiers at home to Bolivia and away to Peru, Brazil have gone on to score just 10 goals in their next six victories. However, a big part of Brazil’s success is their strong defensive record. Brazil have kept clean sheets in their last six qualifiers, with only Peru’s two goals being the only ones Brazil have conceded in qualification.

Ecuador vs Bolivia

🇪🇨🇧🇴 South America – World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Friday 8th October, 01:30

Bolivia travel to the Estadio Monumental to take on Ecuador. The hosts currently lie in 4th and in the last automatic qualification spot. Bolivia on the other hand lie in 9th and are currently seven points behind their opponents.

Ecuador are in a decent position to qualify for the 2022 World Cup but know a win at home to Bolivia is vital. A big reason for Ecuador sitting in 4th is due to their good home record. 10/13 points Ecuador have collected have came in their five home fixtures, with their only away points coming in the earlier meeting with Bolivia, with Ecuador winning 2-3. Ecuador have already defeated Uruguay, Columbia and Paraguay at home, scoring a total of 12 goals. Ecuador have defeated Bolivia in each of their last five World Cup Qualifiers on home turf.

Only Venezuela lie below Bolivia in the table with them earning seven points from their nine outings. Bolivia come into this suffering back to back defeats away to both Uruguay and Argentina, in which they conceded seven goals. It is well known that Bolivia perform better at their La Paz base due to the high altitude, with them struggling terribly on their travels. Bolivia are yet to win a World Cup Qualifier this century away from home, losing 42/49. Bolivia have the worst defensive record out of all the South American sides, conceding 22 goals in their nine games, with them also failing to register a clean sheet.

Bet of the Day

Brazil come into this winning all eight of their qualifiers so far and there’s no reason why they can’t keep up their 100% record as they travel to rock bottom Venezuela. Due to how toothless Venezuela are up front and how strong Brazil are, I’m happy to add in under 4.5 goals. Brazil’s last six wins in the qualifiers have went under 4.5 goals as well as all seven of Venezuela’s defeats. Ecuador have already recorded some impressive victories at home in the qualifiers and should defeat a Bolivia side who have a horrendous away record in the qualifiers. As well as backing Ecuador to defeat a side yet to win an away qualifier this century, I’ll add in Ecuador to score at least twice. Only Brazil have scored more than Ecuador in the qualifiers, as well as no side conceding more goals than Bolivia.

  • Brazil to win & under 4.5 goals
  • Ecuador to win & over 1.5 goals
  • Double Pays 45/40 (Bet Victor)
