Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the EFL, and there is one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by one point and one place in the League Two table meet at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday afternoon as 7th-placed Wrexham play host to 6th-placed Crewe in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Phil Parkinson’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in the English fourth tier this campaign, scoring 20 goals across their opening nine league outings, with 17 (85%) of them coming in front of their supporters. The Red Dragons have scored two or more goals in all five of their League Two tussles on home soil – even striking three or more in four (80%) of them – and they will be confident of breaching an Alex defence that is without a clean sheet and conceded 14 goals across their opening nine matches in the league this season.
Lee Bell’s visitors are the second-highest scorers in League Two this campaign, scoring 21 goals across their opening nine contests, with eight (38%) of them coming across their four road trips. The Railwaymen have found the back of the net in all bar one of their league outings – remarkably scoring on multiple occasions in their other eight (89%) matches – and they too will be confident of troubling a Wrexham defence that has registered just two clean sheets and conceded 20 goals across their opening nine League Two matches.

Wrexham’s five League Two fixtures on home soil this season have unbelievably yielded 30 goals (6.00 goals per game), with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in 4/5 (80%) of them – and given 8/9 (89%) of Crewe’s fixtures in the league this campaign have also seen Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals land – I’m more than happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes in Wales on Saturday afternoon, with both teams contribution in what promises to be a highly entertaining encounter.
