Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Scottish Premiership, and I’m keen to back goals in a fixture between two rivals.

Second meets third in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow afternoon as Aberdeen welcomes rivals Rangers to Pittodrie in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
Aberdeen have scored 50 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, with 34 of those coming at home. Barry Robson’s visitors have found the back of the net in 14/16 of their league fixtures in front of their supporters this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 11 (69%) of those – and I expect them to breach a Gers defence that has conceded in 11/16 of their Premiership fixtures on the road this campaign.
Rangers are the second-highest scorers in the Scottish top-flight this season, scoring 81 goals, with 37 of those coming away from home. Michael Beale’s visitors have only failed to score at Celtic Park at the beginning of last September in the Scottish top-flight this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 26 (81%) of those – and I can’t seek them not getting on the scoresheet against a Dons side that has conceded 14 goals across their previous six meetings with both Rangers and Celtic this season.

Over 2.5 Goals has banked in 24/32 (75%) of Rangers Premiership fixtures this season – and given the same has landed in 20/32 of Aberdeen’s league contests this term – I’m hoping to see a similar scoreline to the 2-3 victory Rangers achieved when the pair last faced-off in league business at Pittodrie in the middle of last September.
