Football Bet of the Day: On the Hunt for Goals in Hafnarfjarðar This Evening

Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to Iceland this evening, and one of the fixtures in particular stands out to me for goals.

Víkingur will look to extend their three-point lead at the top of the Icelandic top-flight table as they travel to Hafnarfjarðar to take on FH in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

FH have scored 31 goals across their opening 16 league matches, with 18 (58%) of those coming at home. Heimir Guðjónsson’s hosts have found the back of the net in all seven of their league contests on home soil – striking two or more in each of their previous six – and they will look to breach Víkingur defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their last six road trips, conceding on eight occasions.

Víkingur are the second-highest scorers in the Icelandic top-flight, scoring 44 goals across their opening 17 league matches, with 19 (43%) of those coming on their travels. Arnar Gunnlaugsson’s visitors have found the back of the net in all 17 of their league contests this season – striking two or more in a remarkable 15 (88%) of them – and will be confident of breaching an FH defence that has registered just three shutouts in the league this term, with just one of those coming across their previous 12.

Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals has banked in five of Víkingur’s previous six Besta deild karla fixtures on their travels – and given the same has landed in four of FH’s last five league contests on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three goals with both sides contributing in what promises to be an entertaining encounter in Hafnarfjarðar this evening.
