Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the MLS, and there is one side in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by four places and four points in the Eastern Conference table meet at Geodis Park in the early hours of Thursday morning as 2nd-placed Nashville entertain 6th-placed Philadelphia Union.
Nashville suffered their third straight defeat on their travels at the weekend, as they were beaten by a goal to nil against Chicago Fire. However, Gary Smith’s side defeated DC United 2-0 in their previous home fixture, meaning they have now won each of their last six MLS matches in front of their supporters, with their points tally of 26 (W8-D2-L1) being the third-highest total of points won at home in the entire MLS.
The Union head into this fixture having only won just one of their last five matches, as they were beaten 3-1 away at The Galaxy in the early hours of Sunday morning. Jim Curtin’s men have been nowhere near as strong on their travels as they have been on home soil, collecting just 11 points from a possible 33 away from home (W3-D2-L6), with just one of those points coming across their previous four road trips.

Nashville have scored 30 goals across their opening 22 MLS matches this term, with 21 (70%) of those coming on home turf. The Boys in Gold have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in 8/11 (73%) of their league contests on home soil – including in each of their previous six – and I’m backing them to bag another double at home to a Union defence that’s registered a solitary clean sheet across their 11 MLS fixtures on the road, shipping multiple strikes in seven (64%) of them.
