After making it three winners in as many nights in Belgium last night, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees focus on the EFL, and I’ve picked out one match that appeals to me for goals.

League leaders Stockport will look to bounce back from midweek defeat and maintain their position at the top of the League Two table as they travel to Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon to take on 18th-placed Tranmere in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Nigel Adkins’ hosts have scored 48 goals across their opening 30 matches in League Two this campaign, with 31 (65%) of them coming in front of their supporters. Rovers have only failed to score at home in the league this season against Crewe (3rd) and Wrexham (4th) this term – notching on multiple occasions in 11/16 (69%) of them, including in nine of their last 12 – and will look to continue their fine goal-scoring record at home against a Stockport defence that has registered just two clean sheets on their travels this season.
Dave Challinor’s visitors are the highest scorers in League Two, banging in 66 goals across their opening 31 matches, with 31 (47%) of them coming on their travels. The Hatters have made the net bulge in all bar one of their opening 14 away trips in League Two this term – scoring on multiple occasions in 10 (71%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Tranmere backline that has recorded four clean sheets at home this season, with just two of them coming across their previous 11.

Stockport’s opening 14 away matches in League Two this season are averaging 3.50 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals clicking in 11 (79%) of them – and given the same has landed in 13/16 (81%) of Tranmere’s home encounters this term – I’m happy to have a punt on there being at least three goals between these two in Merseyside on Saturday afternoon.
