Lyon will aim to keep their hopes of European qualification alive as they travel to the Stadium de Toulouse to take on mid-table Toulouse.
After sealing their place in the Coupe de France final, Toulouse claimed just their second win from their previous seven Ligue 1 matches with a 1-2 success away at in-form Montpellier. After winning seven and losing just two of their opening 12 Ligue 1 contests in front of their supporters, Philippe Montanier’s hosts come into this fixture, losing each of their last three. Le Téfécé have found the back of the net in 23/30 (77%) of their Ligue 1 assignments this term, scoring on 46 occasions.
Lyon bounced back from their semi-final defeat in the Coupe de France by current holders Nantes by beating European rivals Rennes 3-1 in an impressive second-half showing. After claiming just four points from their opening seven Ligue 1 tussles on the road (W1-D1-L5), Laurent Blanc’s visitors have gone on to earn a further 17 points from their next eight (W5-D2-L1), including a memorable 0-1 success at table-topping PSG in their previous away fixture. Les Gones have found the back of the net in 12/15 of their away matches in the French top-flight this campaign, scoring on 24 occasions.
Bet of the Day
Both clubs have each found the back of the net in 23/30 (77%) of their respective Ligue 1 contests this season – and with Toulouse registering just two shutouts at home and Laurent Blanc’s visitors keeping their sheets clean on only three occasions on the road – I’m keen on backing both to get on the scoresheet in this one.
