That victory was sandwiched between two 2-0 victories over Spartak Moscow to qualify for the play off round of the Champions League. Arouca kicked off their Liga NOS campaign with a 0-2 defeat at home to fellow newly promoted side Estoril. That came after a 0-1 defeat to Rio Ave in the Taca da Liga (the same side they defeated 5-0 in last seasons relegation/promotion play off). Arouca are winless in their last 7 trips to the Estádio Da Luz, losing 6 and conceding 23 goals.
