Football Bet of the Day: Head to Japan for Goals on Friday Morning

Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Japanese J1 League, and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter in Hokkaido.

The goal-kings of J1 League so far this season, Consadole Sapporo, welcome Kyoto Sanga to the Sapporo Dome on Friday morning, and I’m expecting another high-scoring encounter involving the hosts.

Mihailo Petrović’s hosts are the leading scorers in the Japanese top flight this term, scoring 29 goals across their opening 13 matches. Consa have only failed to score in one of their previous 12 J1 League fixtures – scoring on multiple occasions in nine of their last 11 – and should be more than capable of adding to their goal-tally against a Sanga defence that has recorded just two clean sheets in the league this campaign – and none in their previous nine.

Cho Kwi-jae’s visitors scored 15 goals in the J1 League so far this season, with nine of those coming across their six road trips. Sanga have found the back of the in eight of their previous 11 league contests – including in each of their last five away – and will look to breach a Sapporo defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their previous 12 J1 League matches – conceding multiple strikes in eight (67%) of them.

Over 2.5 Goals has banked in a league-high 10/13 (77%) of Consadole Sapporo’s J1 League fixtures this term – and given six of Kyoto Sanga’s previous nine league contests have broken the Over 2.5 Goal-Barrier – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least another three at the Sapporo Dome tomorrow morning with both sides contributing.
