Joint German 3. Liga leaders Energie Cottbus will look to maintain their position at the top of the table as they welcome mid-table Borussia Dortmund II to the Stadion der Freundschaft tomorrow afternoon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Claus-Dieter Wollitz’s hosts are the leading scorers in the German third tier, slamming in 31 goals across their opening 13 matches, with 17 (55%) of them coming across their six home fixtures.
Die Lausitzer have found the back of the net in all bar two of their league outings, notching on multiple occasions in eight (62%) of them – including in four of their past five on home soil – and will be confident of adding to their already impressive goal-tally against a Borussia Dortmund II side that is without a clean sheet in each of their opening six road trips, shipping 16 goals.
Jan Zimmermann’s visitors are the joint third-highest scorers in the German third tier, slamming in 24 goals across their opening 13 contests, with 11 (46%) of them coming across their opening six road trips.
Die Borussen have found the back of the net in all bar one of their previous 11 league outings – striking on multiple occasions in four of their past five – and will look to trouble an Energie Cottbus defence that has recorded just three clean sheets in the league this season, with just one of those coming at home.

Borussia Dortmund II’s opening 13 contests in the German third tier have averaged an impressive 3.54 goals per game, with eight of their previous nine featuring at least three goals, whilst each of their past four on their travels have produced four or more goals.
Therefore, I’m happy to back the Over 3.0 Asian goal. This would mean if there are exactly three goals scored, we will receive our stake back, whilst four or more strikes will reward a full payout.
