Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me head to Asia and there’s one fixture in the South Korean top-flight that I feel has the potential for goals.
Ulsan Hyundai vs FC Seoul
🇰🇷 K League 1
⏰ Tuesday 2nd August, 12:00
Ulsan will look to extend their five-point lead at the top of the K League 1 league table, as they play host to sixth-placed Seoul at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.
Ulsan made it three wins from their last four matches in the league last time out, as they overcame Gangwon 2-1. Ulsan have the best home record in the Korean top-flight, collecting 27 points from a possible 36 (W8-D3-L1) and Hong Myung-bo’s side come into this winning each of their last three in front of their own supporters. The Tigers have found the back of the net in 10 of their last 11 league fixtures as hosts, scoring on multiple occasions in eight of those, including in each of their last three. Ulsan have registered seven clean sheets from their opening 23 league fixtures, however, just one of those have come in their last nine, with none of them coming in their last five league outings.
After coming from a goal down to defeat Daegu 2-1, Seoul repeated the feat in their last league fixture, securing an impressive 1-2 victory at third-placed Pohang Steelers. That was only Seoul’s third away win of the season, however, two of those victories have come in their last four road trips, losing only two of their last seven away from home. An Ik-soo’s side have found the back of the net in 16 of their last 19 league matches, as well as in seven of their last eight whilst on their travels. Only bottom-side Seongnam (3) have recorded fewer clean sheets than Seoul (5) so far this season, with just one of those coming in their last nine fixtures away from home.
Bet of the Day
Ulsan will look to extend their five-point lead at the top of the K League 1 table, but face a tough test against a Seoul side that come into this having recorded back-to-back wins against Daegu and Pohang Steelers. An Ik-soo’s visitors have found the back of the net in seven of their last eight matches on their travels, scoring seven goals in their last three and they’ll look to trouble a Ulsan defence that’s conceded in eight of their last nine league outings. Ulsan have found the back of the net in 10 of their last 11 leagues fixtures as hosts, scoring on multiple occasions in eight of those and they too will be confident of breaching a Seoul defence that’s conceded in eight of their last nine road trips. Given both sides records at both ends of the pitch, there’s a good chance we’ll see at least three strikes here, something that has happened in both previous meetings between these two this season.
