Following on from last night’s winner in Bilbao, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian Serie A, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs who have made decent starts to the Serie A season meet at the Stadio Benito Stirpe tomorrow evening as newly promoted Frosinone play host to Fiorentina in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Eusebio Di Francesco’s hosts have scored eight goals across their opening five fixtures in Serie A this term, with seven (88%) of them coming at home. The Giallazzurri have found the back of the net in 4/5 (80%) of their league matches since promotion – scoring two or more in each of their previous two as hosts – and they will look to trouble a Fiorentina defence that has recorded just one clean sheet and conceded nine goals across their opening five Serie A fixtures this season.
Vincenzo Italiano’s visitors are the fourth-highest scorers in Serie A, scoring 11 goals across their opening five matches, with six (55%) of them coming on the road. La Viola have only failed to score away at early pacesetters Inter in the league this campaign – scoring multiple goals in each of their other four Serie A fixtures – and they will be confident of breaching a Frosinone defence that’s without a clean sheet and conceded six goals across their opening three Serie A fixtures on home soil.

Fiorentina’s Serie A fixtures this campaign are averaging an eye-catching 4.00 goals per game, with four (80%) of them even breaking the Over 3.5 Goals barrier – and given Frosinone’s opening three Serie A fixtures on home soil have produced 13 strikes (4.33 goals per game) – I’m more than happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
