Football Bet of the Day: Firhill For Thrills on Tuesday Night

Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Scottish Championship, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by three points and three places in the Scottish Championship meet at Firhill tomorrow evening as 3rd-placed Partick Thistle play host to Ayr United in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Kris Doolan’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Scottish Championship, banging in 19 goals across their opening 10 matches, with eight (42%) of them coming at home. The Jags have made the net bulge in 7/10 (70%) of their league outings this term – scoring on multiple occasions in six (60%) of them – and they will be looking to trouble an Ayr defence that’s registered just two clean sheets in the league this season, conceding 18 goals.

Lee Bullen’s visitors have scored 12 goals across their opening 10 matches in the Championship this term, with 10 (83%) of them coming away from home. The Honest Men have found the back of the net in 7/10 (70%) of their league contests – including in each of their opening five (100%) on their travels – and they will look to trouble a Thistle defence that’s recorded three clean sheets in the league this season, conceding 16 goals.

Partick’s opening 10 matches in the Scottish Championship this season are averaging 3.50 goals per game, with a league-high nine (90%) of them breaking the Over 2.5 Goals barrier – and given 7/10 (70%) of Ayr’s league outings have featured a minimum of three goals – I’m hoping we see a similar outcome to the four we seen when these two faced off in the middle of September.
