⚽️ Ipswich Town vs Norwich City
⏰ Saturday 16th December, 12:30
It’s derby day in East Anglia in the lunchtime kickoff on Saturday as high-flying Ipswich play host to playoff-chasing Norwich in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Kieran McKenna’s hosts are the leading scorers in the English Championship, banging in 45 goals across their opening 21 matches, with a remarkable 30 (67%) of them coming in front of their supporters. The Tractor Boys have scored at least twice in all 10 of their Championship matches on home soil – even scoring three or more in eight (80%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Norwich backline that has registered a solitary clean sheet on their travels this term, shipping multiple goals in 7/10 (70%) of them.
David Wagner’s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the English Championship, slamming in 37 goals across their opening 21 matches, with 21 (57%) of them coming on their travels. The Canaries have found the back of the net in all 10 of their away matches in the league this term – scoring two or more in six (60%) of them – and will be confident of troubling an Ipswich defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their last nine league contests at Portman Road, shipping multiple goals in six (67%) of them.
Bet of the Day
Ipswich’s opening 10 Championship fixtures on home soil this campaign are averaging a whopping 4.70 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in eight of their previous nine – and given the same has landed in 8/10 (80%) of Norwich’s road trips – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be three or more goals, with both of these high-scoring rivals to get on the scoresheet.
