Football Bet of the Day: Expect a Feast of Goals in Turkey on Monday

Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Turkish Süper Lig, and the evening fixture appeals to me for goals.

Fenerbahçe will aim to go back within six points of league leaders Galatasaray as they travel to the division’s entertainers Fatih Karagümrük in a fixture that promises goals.

Fatih Karagümrük stretched their unbeaten run to 11 matches in the Turkish Süper Lig (5-D6-L0), as they won 0-1 away at relegation-threatened Istanbulspor. The Kara Kırmızı are the joint third-highest scorers in the Turkish top-flight, scoring 52 goals across their opening 25 league outings. Andrea Pirlo’s hosts have scored in 22/25 of their Süper Lig fixtures this season, scoring on multiple occasions in 16 (64%) of those.

Fenerbahçe saw their eight-match unbeaten run in the Süper Lig come to an end last time out, as they were beaten 2-4 at home to rivals Beşiktaş. The Yellow Canaries are the highest-scoring side in the Turkish top-flight, bagging 63 goals across their opening 25 league contests. Jorge Jesus’s visitors have found the back of the net in 21/25 of their Süper Lig fixtures this season, scoring on multiple occasions in 17 (68%) of those.

Both Teams to Score has banked in a league-high 19/25 (76%) of Fatih Karagümrük’s Süper Lig fixtures this term – and given the same has banked in each of Fenerbahçe last six away – I reckon there’s a good chance we’ll see these two high-scoring sides get on the scoresheet.

No two sides have seen a higher percentage of their fixtures in the Süper Lig this term break the over 2.5 goal-barrier, with 18/25 (72%) of both team’s matches seeing at least three strikes – including a thrilling 5-4 victory for Fenerbahçe in the reverse fixture.
