Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Premier League, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

In what is no doubt the biggest game of the season so far, never mind game of the weekend in the Premier League, takes place at The Emirates late tomorrow afternoon as title challengers Arsenal play host to reigning champions Manchester City in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Mikel Arteta’s hosts have scored 15 goals across their opening seven Premier League matches this term, with nine (60%) of them coming in front of their supporters. Since the start of last season, The Gunners have found the back of the net in 22/23 (96%) of their Premier League contests on home soil – striking two or more in 19 (83%) of them, including all four this season – and they will be confident of troubling a City backline that has conceded in 12 of their previous 15 Premier League contests on the road.
Pep Guardiola’s visitors have scored 17 goals across their opening seven Premier League outings this campaign, with nine (53%) of them coming on their travels. Unsurprisingly, City have found the back of the net in each of their opening seven Premier League contests this season – striking on multiple occasions in five (71%) of them – and they will be confident in finding the back of the net once more against a Gunners defence that’s recorded just four clean sheets across their previous 23 Premier League matches in front of their supporters.
Bet of the Day
Since the start of last season, Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures at The Emirates are averaging a whopping 4.04 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in 21/23 (91%) of them – and given there have been three or more goals in each of The Cityzens opening four road trips in the Premier League this term – I’m hoping we see a similarly high-scoring match to the 1-3 scoreline we saw in this fixture in February last season.
