After frustratingly falling a goal short in Portugal on Friday night, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to Ligue 1, and the evening kickoff appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by two places and just one point meet at the Stade Auguste-Delaune tomorrow evening as league leaders Monaco travel to 3rd-placed Reims in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Will Still’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in Ligue 1 this term, scoring 13 goals across their opening seven matches, with five (38%) of them coming in their three contests as hosts. Les rouges et blancs are one of only two sides in the division to have found the back of the net in each of their opening seven matches – striking on multiple occasions in five of their previous six – and they will be confident of breaching a Monaco defence that’s conceded seven goals across their opening three road trips, shipping multiple goals in each match.
Adi Hütter’s visitors are the leading scorers in the French top flight, banging in 18 goals across their opening seven matches, with nine (50%) of them coming across their three road trips. Les Monégasques have only failed to score at home to Nice this campaign (a match they missed two penalties in) – striking on multiple occasions in six (86%) of them – and they will also be confident of finding the target against a Reims defence that has only registered two shutouts this season, with both of them coming against the lowest scorers and the bottom two in the Ligue 1 table, Lyon and Clermont.

Monaco’s opening seven Ligue 1 tussles this term are averaging a league-high 4.00 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in six (86%) of them, with Both Teams to Score also copping in four (57%) of them, including in each of their opening three road trips – and given Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has clicked in 5/7 (71%) of Reims’ Ligue 1 fixtures this season – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes, with both sides contributing, in what promises to be an entertaining encounter between these two high-scoring sides.
