Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once again focus on the European World Cup Qualifiers. I’ve picked out my favourite two selections to give us a nice looking double.

Denmark vs Austria

?? Europe – World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Tuesday 12th October, 19:45

Denmark host Austria at Parken in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening knowing a win will secure their place at next years World Cup in Qatar. Austria lie in 4th position in the group, four points off Scotland in 2nd.

Denmark continued their perfect campaign so far with a routine 0-4 win over minnows Moldova on Saturday. That’s now seven wins out of seven in Group F for Denmark and number eight would confirm their place in Qatar next year. No side has scored more goals in qualifying than Denmark, with them netting 26 times, averaging 3.71 goals per game. Denmark are also the only side in qualifying yet to concede a goal, keeping seven successive clean sheets emphasising how dominating they’ve been throughout Group F.

Austria got back to winning ways last time out as they defeated the Faroe Islands 0-2 in Tórshavn on Saturday. Prior to that, Austria suffered damaging defeats to both Scotland and Israel which leaves there chances of reaching next years World Cup rather slim. Austria have only kept two clean sheets in qualifying and both came against the group minnows Moldova and the Faroe’s. Austria have yet to win any of their four matches against the three sides above them in Group F, conceding 12 times in those matches. That includes a heavy 5-2 defeat away to Israel and a 0-4 thumping against Denmark in the reverse fixture.

Israel vs Moldova

?? Europe – World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Tuesday 12th October, 19:45

Israel host Moldova in a must win fixture at the Yaakov Turner Toto Stadium in Be’ér Shéva on Tuesday evening. The hosts sit in 3rd position and four points behind Scotland in 2nd. The visitors however sit bottom with just a solitary point to their name.

Despite taking the lead twice, Israel suffered an agonising defeat as Scotland scored a stoppage time winner to win 3-2 and take them four points clear of Israel in second spot. Israel were also defeated by run away leaders Denmark prior to their trip to Hampden but did win three in the bounce before that. Israel scored an eye catching 13 goals in those victories, which included a 1-4 win against Moldova in the reverse fixture. Israel also won their last qualifier at home, an impressive 5-2 win over group rivals Austria so will fancy their chances of securing a comfortable three points against their lowly opposition.

Moldova suffered yet another defeat last time out as Denmark thumped them 0-4 with all four goals being scored in the first half. That’s now six defeats on the bounce in qualifying for Moldova, with them only collecting a solitary point at home to the Faroes on MD1. Only Gibraltar and San Marino have conceded more goals in qualifying than Moldova, with them conceding 22 times, an average of 3.14 per match. Moldova have failed to win any of their last 18 qualifiers on the road, losing 15.

Bet of the Day

Denmark have been absolutely flawless in qualifying so far and can qualify in style in front of their own fans on Tuesday evening. They face an Austria side who will be disappointed how their campaign has went as its looking increasingly unlikely they’ll be at next years World Cup. Their defence has been leaky throughout qualifying and I can see them struggling against the top scores in qualifying so far. Israel know anything less than a win will end their hopes of qualification for the World Cup but should comfortably dispatch a poor Moldova side who have an absolutely terrible record on their travels. Israel won the corresponding fixture 1-4 and should once more record a comfortable victory.

  • Denmark to score 2+ goals
  • Israel to win & over 1.5 goals
  • Double Pays 6/5 (Bet Victor)
