Following Tuesday night’s winner in Malta, The BOTD returns on Friday and it sees me head to the Chinese Super League, and one fixture in particular appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by only two points and two places in the Chinese Super League table go head-to-head at the Workers' Stadium on Friday lunchtime as 4th-placed Beijing Guoan entertain 6th-placed Zhejiang in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Ricardo Soares’ hosts are the third-highest scorers in the Chinese Super League, scoring 43 goals across their opening 24 matches, with 27 (63%) of those coming on home soil. The Imperial Guards have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 12 league outings on home soil – striking on multiple occasions in six of their previous eight – and they will be confident of breaching a Zhejiang defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet on their travels this season.
Jordi Vinyals’ visitors are the fifth-highest scorers in the Chinese top flight, banging in 39 goals across their opening 24 fixtures, with 19 (49%) of those coming on their travels. The Green Giants have made the net bulge in all bar one of their opening 11 road trips in the league this term – scoring two or more in seven of their previous eight – and they will be confident of troubling a Beijing Guoan defence that has conceded in 8/9 (89%) of their home fixtures when hosting teams positioned in 12th and above.

Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has landed in a remarkable 10/11 (91%) of Zhejiang’s Chinese Super League fixtures on the road this season – and given the same has landed in five of Beijing Guoan’s previous eight on home soil – I’m hoping we see a similarly entertaining match to the 3-2 scoreline we saw in the reverse fixture between these two sides at the end of May.
