Football Bet of the Day: Back Both to Strike in Seville on Thursday

Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Sevilla will look to maintain their push for a top-half finish as they welcome relegation-threatened Espanyol to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Sevilla have scored 20 of their 38 goals in La Liga this season at home, with 16 of those strikes coming across their previous nine in front of their supporters. José Luis Mendilibar’s hosts have found the back of the net in 26/32 (81%) of their contests in the Spanish top flight this term – including in nine of their last 10 at home – and should be more than capable of troubling an Espanyol defence that has kept just one clean sheet across their previous 14 La Liga road trips, with that coming against rock-bottom Elche.

Espanyol have scored 38 goals in La Liga this campaign, with exactly half of those coming across their 16 away fixtures. Luis García’s visitors have found the back of the net in 28/32 of their assignments in La Liga this season – including in 15/16 away from home – and will aim to breach a Sevilla defence that has registered just three clean sheets in front of their supporters this season, with neither of those coming across their last five.

Bet of the Day

Espanyol have been the Both Teams to Score kings of La Liga this season, with 23/32 (72%) of their league outings seeing both sides get on the scoresheet. Both Teams to Score has also banked in a league-high 13/16 (81%) of the Catalans away fixtures this term – and given the same has landed in eight of Sevilla’s previous 13 at home in the league – I’m happy to have a punt on these two clubs getting on the scoresheet in Andalusia on Thursday evening.
