Football Bet of the Day: Foxes Fighting for Their Life at St James’ Park

Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the big Match at St James’ Park, and I’m expecting a fairly entertaining affair.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Premier League table meet at St James' Park tomorrow evening as Champions League-chasing Newcastle plays host to relegation-threatened Leicester – and I’m happy to take a chance on both teams getting on the scoresheet.

Eddie Howe’s hosts have scored 67 goals in the Premier League this term, with 36 of them coming in front of their supporters. The Magpies have found the back of the net in 14/18 of their league outings at home – striking on multiple occasions in five of their previous six – and should be more than capable of breaching a Foxes defence without a clean sheet in each of their last 21 Premier League assignments.

Dean Smith’s visitors have scored 49 goals in the English top flight this campaign, with 28 of those coming on their travels. The Foxes have found the back of the net in 15/18 of their Premier League matches on the road – scoring on multiple occasions in eight (44%) of them – and I reckon they can breach a Newcastle defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their last 16 Premier League contests.

Bet of the Day

Both Teams to Score has banked in 12/18 (67%) of Leicester’s Premier League fixtures away from home – and given the same has landed in nine of Newcastle’s previous 12 league outings – I’m happy to have a punt on both sides getting on the scoresheet in the North East of England tomorrow evening.

To nudge up the price, I’m happy to throw in a Leicester card. The Foxes have been shown a card in 17/18 of their Premier League fixtures on the road this term, whilst Newcastle have drawn a card from all bar one of their 18 visiting opponents to St James’ Park.
