IT'S a quiet football night in the run-up to the friendly (or unfriendly as I prefer to call them) internationals on Wednesday.

Sky Sports are showing Gillingham v Wycombe from League Two and on paper it looks like a home win. However, after closer inspection I don't know if the Gills are worth backing at a best 4-6 with Coral.

The second-placed side are being priced on their early-season form but I said that last week and they went and beat Northampton.

So it's a difficult one to call with Wycombe playing well under player-manager Gareth Ainsworth. They are as big as 5-1 with bet365 and BetVictor and it's tempting.

However, I'm playing it safer with draw no bet at 7-2 with BetVictor and if Wycombe perform they way they have been recently they should avoid defeat.

Gillingham top scorer Deon Burton is 11-8 with BetVictor to net at anytime but I'd prefer a punt on Wycombe's Matt McClure who has scored seven in his last eight games and is 7-2 at bet365 and BetVictor.

In Portugal, surprise guys Pacos de Ferreira face Estoril at home with a chance to climb to third as they launch a bid for the third Champions League slot.

Porto and Benfica are the only sides who have beaten Pacos de Ferreira who can leapfrog Braga into third place.

Estoril are enjoying a decent season but haven't won against Pacos in eight meetings. I'm on the home at 21-20 with bet365 and Stan James.

Recommendations

Wycombe draw no bet
(7-2, Betvictor)

McClure to score
(7-2, bet365, BetVictor)

Ascoli and Pacos Ferreira for me tonight 3/1 for the double

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Brian, I’m doing a single on Pacos, will have a quick look at Ascoli but I’m not a fan of foreign lower leagues apart from goal and btts betting. Like the look of Go Ahead Eagles v Veendam for both teams to score.

  2. Willie McGuire 12 years ago

    Ascoli
    Pacos Ferreira
    Gillingham
    Monaco
    Btts – MVV game.
Pretty cack week ahead with the unpredictable friendlies.

Good luck Danny bro with the nites bets hope u get of to a good start

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Tony, nothing wrong with wishing Danny all the best but you know what will happen when admin see the comments.

  6. Peter Brown 12 years ago

Paul do u fancy anyone in the Arles v Monaco match?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Peter, I’d be very surprised if Monaco didn’t win but they’ve let me down this season so I’m not sure I’ll be having a bet. At the end of the day it’s a team in relegation trouble who don’t score enough goals against the leaders who do. But bookies are giving you odds against Monaco because they can throw in the odd bad result and failed to win last time out against Guingamp.

  7. john 12 years ago

Gone with a small bet, MVV v Volendam, MVV to score in both halves and Benfica B v Uniao, Benfica B to score in both halves…not much on tonight

    • Striker 12 years ago

Gone for MVV/Volendum BTTS and Pacos de Ferrera Win DOUBLE

  8. Brian H 12 years ago

Thanks for making me aware of the Go Ahead Eagles game Mr F,although I’m going too plump for over 3.5 goals.

Concerning Monaco,I avoid most teams in France away from home and even more so with Monaco having the Tinkerman in charge

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Brian, the Go Ahead game should have goals as they score plenty and their opponents net about four times out of five away from home. Ranieri puts doubts in my head but still a surprise if Monaco don’t win this one.

  9. Dave 12 years ago

anyone got any thoughts on the munich1860 vs kaiserslaurten game? which will it go and is a btts?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Dave, you’ve picked out a tough game. Could be a draw but if forced to pick a winner it would be Kaiserslautern but again one I won’t be touching.

  10. Paul Downey 12 years ago

On Pacos for £20 paul-thanks for the heads up as a super single, here’s hoping for a positive result.

  11. Don 12 years ago

2 little singles tonight – Pacos & Monaco.

Try and build up a bigger pot to lose at the weekend! :)

  12. Chris Guy 12 years ago

Wasn’t going to bet anything tonight but putting on £100 for McClure anytime @ 7/2

  13. AL 12 years ago

only bet from me tonight is bts in the 3 Eerste Divisie games in Holland

    DEN BOSCH V EINDHOVEN
    GO AHEAD EAGLES V VEENDAM
    MAASTRICHT V VOLENDAM

    Returns £95 from a £25 stake

Games are all 15-20 mins in & 0-0 so far in all 3!

  14. Craig23_50 12 years ago

I’m doing singles on pacos and Monaco

almost 3/1 is a decent return for overs treble in dutch jupiler Al, bn watching this league all season and following a guy on twitter, dutch football tips, whose team is GAE

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, how do you know his team are GAE!

  16. John 12 years ago

I like the look of that dutch league, it seems to be pretty good for BTTS betting

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

Looking pretty good at half time, 2/3 games up already! 0-0 in the other between Go Ahead Eagles & Veendam

8/10 bts in GAE last 10
      7/10 bts in Veendam’s

      also

8/10 bts in GAE at home
7/10 bts in Veendam away games

So fairly confident there will be goals in the 2nd half

  17. 1plus2 12 years ago

Worryingly for me personally, this is the longest run of bets i can remember that have not come to fruition for me and i am now clutching at straws to try and get a small bank going again to try and speculate to acumulate, i need a wee bit change of luck as some mad results have been doing me for weeks.

Anyone else been on a continued losing run for a healthy amount of time and if so give me a few tips to stop the rot lol

  18. 1plus2 12 years ago

Best of luck with that AL

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

1plus2 – just stick to betting on leagues you follow, don’t go chasing a win betting on games you know little about! not much worth betting on until the weekend in my view. All I’m doing is my bts treble & a small stakes bet on the internationals just for some interest!

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

yeah just need a goal from Veendam now, just once this season have they failed to score away from home!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

AL, that’s why I looked at Veendam, hopefully they’ll get one.

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

      Here’s hoping mr f!

10 mins left so they should be really going for it to try & rescue a point

    • Gymanimal 12 years ago

      You got it 1-1

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

1-1 now! Was never in doubt! :)

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

AL, thought there would be more goals than 1-1 but that will do.

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

Thought there would be more aswell, almost put a fiver on a over 3.5 treble but never got it on in time

  19. 1plus2 12 years ago

    1-0 Eagles AL

  20. Craig alves 12 years ago

cos he puts on twitter nearly every game they’re playing paul, always going on about them. his accounts @FootballTipsNL and free also. the amount of people over last yr and a half av bn onit that start out as free tipsters then get a following and charge money is unreal

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, at the end of the day if the tips are good and he’s not charging more than say a tenner a month then it’s worth it.

  21. Milesey 12 years ago

Mr F you got any bets on tonight ?

very very boring night, i’ve taken to watching dvd’s now.

    Milesey

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Milesey, just bet on what I put up, Singles on Pacos and Wycombe draw no but, plus the boy McClure at any time and a btts accer. But as you say a pretty boring night.

    • Milesey 12 years ago

Be alright tomorrow night at stevenage v notts county, so will have a nice lump on STEVENAGE @17/10.

Gary Smith says he was disappointed with his side’s lacklustre second-half display against Leyton Orient, adding that Boro looked like a team that hadn’t played for three weeks.

Stevenage, who were indeed in action for the first time since January 12, went behind to a 10th minute Dean Cox strike on Saturday but rarely troubled Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones in reply.

In the second period Boro looked sluggish in their inability to carve open the Orient defence, and despite making a number of attacking substitutions Smith could only watch from the sidelines as his team failed to find an equaliser as they extended their run of home matches without a win to seven games.

“[We have had] three weeks off and I thought we saw all of the signs of a group of players that hadn’t played for a while, which certainly I was hoping wasn’t going to happen,” Smith said afterwards.

“A goal in 10 minutes for them, a sloppy goal from our point of view, gives them a lift and make our life much more difficult. There was a good response but not enough of a cutting edge in front of their goal.

“[The second half] didn’t take off. Of course with a half-time break, a regroup, [we expected to] really come out of the tracks and it didn’t happen.

“I don’t know whether that was because the pitch was in a difficult shape – it certainly got more difficult to move the ball – but also when we got into more exciting areas the choices weren’t good enough and the quality wasn’t up to scratch and I think you’ve seen players that we would normally rely on not reach those sorts of standards.”

Speaking about the lack of an impact from his substitutes, Smith added: “I always expect that when forwards are coming on that they’re going to have a bit of an impact on the game.

“Dani Lopez, who has been out on loan and scored goals at League 2 level, found it tough going, albeit for 20 minutes.

“Steve Beleck showed some signs but like a lot of other players didn’t really fulfil the potential. There was nothing on the end of bright moves… it just petered out and that was the way the second half went.

“In many ways you have to give credit to Leyton Orient for that; they defended well, they worked very hard, they protected their lead well. But at home we certainly have got to make more of the moments and positions we get in.”

  22. Craig alves 12 years ago

see what u done there haha, ascosli btts lands in the 1st half, shame av nae extra pennies tae gamble wi this wk

  23. Craig alves 12 years ago

    nice wee treble there al

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

Yeah, just about recouped my weekend losses from that & the win on the superbowl last night.

  24. al 12 years ago

Need 1 more goal in Maastricht game done over 5.5 goals

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, nice couple of late goals for you.

    • AL (Phd) 12 years ago

Good night to be an AL! ha

  25. Craig alves 12 years ago

av only ever paid for tips once and it was throu twitter last season and up til xmas that the guy made us a bit of ££ and it’s only £10 for the year, just so he could get a new site up and running

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, if you pay a tenner all you need is £20 on a 1-2 shot and you have your money back.

  26. al 12 years ago

Yes Mr f did treble in running
Done McClure to score first but on bench

Oh can’t wait for comp I think I’m gonna win pretty confident

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, shows what I know. Half watching it and didn’t notice. It’s a game that could either way with both sides making chances.

  27. al 12 years ago

    U right there al

  28. Paul Downey 12 years ago

Any1 watching pacos game? Not looking good:(

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Paul, watching Gillingham game, hopefully Pacos get one, still a bit of time.

  29. al 12 years ago

    McClure on now
Got a feeling he is going to score that first goal

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, I see that and almost scored with his first touch. Void bet depending on who you bet with.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, McClure’s just missed a total sitter. And now he’s scored.

  30. al 12 years ago

    I can’t believe it I knew it

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, he’s been on the park about six minutes, had one off the line, missed that sitter and scored. Wonder why he didn’t start? No worries he’s brought up the bet and hopefully Wycombe will hold on to the win. Looked too big to me with the form they’ve been in.

  31. al 12 years ago

I’m sure my bet stands I bet with William hill

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Al, will stand with Hills because he came on at 0-0.

  32. Bryan 12 years ago

    Cheers Mr Fixit!

I had written it off when I realised he wasn’t starting as well.

  33. al 12 years ago

Cheers Mr f come home from work about 7.20 looked here and u wr tipping McClure so walked @/( in the rain/) to bookies to put bet on

  34. al 12 years ago

I also did Wycombe and estoril double should have done a single on Wycombe @ 4/1 never mind

  35. Ryan 12 years ago

Mr F does it again. Even when he doesn’t he comes damn close. Keep em coming Mr F. Much appreciated.

    Great call cheers

I’m only waiting on Pascos Ferria but the games been stopped cos of Fog what happens to ur bet if the game gets abandoned any one know ?

    • Guido 12 years ago

if its abandoned should be void Craig..if ther wiz only 7/8 mins left might be a result there??!!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Guido, if it doesn’t resume bets won’t be losers but some firms will void them and others will let them run on the game depending on when it’s completed or replayed.

    • Guido 12 years ago

Got stung bad about 7/8 years back onthat PAUL…had ACM to beat Inter and they were winning 3-0 with think it was 8 mins left when Inter fans rioted/chuckin bottles n lightin fires n so on nonsense and match was abandoned. Bookie refused to pay out on ACM…thot that was a bad decision bearing in mind ACM had the game well won I was annoyed at that/never went back to online betting with them better not say who but they have a fair bit of red in there sign!! was a decent amount of money as well..part of a treble if I remember, I know its rules n sometimes it goes for you but think they shooda used some discretion/common sense there :-( poor show

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Guido, with AC 3-0 up they should have paid out, obviously with 0-0 with 14 to go no one’s really losing out.

    • Guido 12 years ago

Yeah I thot they shood as well Paul…but didn’t. Bad vibe :-( never bothered with them after that/closed acc. went somewhere else

    • al 12 years ago

I’m sure its a void bet

  39. Guido 12 years ago

Nice one on Wycombe Paul…put on at ht @ 5/1 and singles/double with Pacos…game interrupted…someone no got 50p to put in the meter??

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Guido, I think Gillingham are over-rated at the moment, 5-1 Wycombe was big.

    • Guido 12 years ago

5/1 shood always be considered in that level of fitba..no a lot between the teams on any given night ..I suppose..Wycombe had a bitta form as u righly pointed out Paul. Wizna gonna botherqith anything tonight. Nice one..thanks! ;-)

  40. Ryan 12 years ago

888 have not paid out on McClure AG. Is this right?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ryan, depends on their rules. As I said earlier some firms void bets when players don’t start. This can work for or against you. Tonight for example McClure had only 10 minutes or so to score and some bookies will say that’s unfair.

  41. Craig alves 12 years ago

££’s been made back Paul plus more since start of January plus got whole years tips to go. also nice wins tonight on Wycombe game, not the best start for Danny in the comp but plenty time to come back

  42. Craig23_50 12 years ago

It got stopped on the 76th minute I was watching it the players couldn’t see each other lol and the commentator didn’t know who was on the ball cos the fog was that bad I can’t see this going ahead

  43. Guido 12 years ago

Games been abandoned…might be a good result for a lotta folk. Take the bird in the hand this time I think. Wida been a bummer if Pacos hud been winning..but swings n roundabouts!

  44. Striker 12 years ago

Has 2/1 on the MVV vs Volendam BTTS and Pacos Ferreira Win, but Portuguese game abandoned due to fog. So I get stake and 50% profit back, happy with that as it looked like the game could’ve gone either way or more likely to be a draw.

  45. al 12 years ago

    William hill rules

Should a match be abandoned prior to the completion of 90 minutes play, all markets will be void, unless a winning market has already been established prior to abandonment e.g. first goalscorer, time of first goal, half time result etc.

    • Guido 12 years ago

Id say that wiz fair enuff AL

  46. Bryan 12 years ago

Bet365 paid out no problem for McClure first scorer.

  47. Ryan 12 years ago

I see that. Thanks for clarification

  48. al 12 years ago

I’m happy with that Guido had double with wycombe

    • Guido 12 years ago

Me too Al…happy enuff with the abandonment. Wida been fizzing if the Wycombe was abandoned when 1-0 up with a few mins left of course!! hahaha

  49. Chris Guy 12 years ago

Paul thanks for the McClure tip. £100 on and £450 back.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Chris, glad you took that one. I wondered whether you would.

  50. Ross L 12 years ago

Took your advice of McClure to score. Done a little H2H research and went with McClure FGs & Wycombe 1-0 @ 65/1.

    Thanks!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ross, that’s a good bet. Don’t know if you watched the game but 3-2 Wycombe would have been more like, loads of chances at both ends and are man McClure had a terrible miss a minute before he scored.

  51. AL (Phd) 12 years ago

Only bet for me in the midweek internationals is a BTS treble at just over 5/1 with bet365

    HOLLAND V ITALY @ 5/6
    FRANCE V GERMANY @ 8/11
    REP OF IRELAND V POLAND @ 1/1

  52. max 12 years ago

Craig Alves, you mentioned that you paid £10 for tips for the whole year on a site via Twitter, would that be “Footballacca” by any chance?
I went with them a while back, and while I did make a bit of money, the tips are hit and miss at best. Worst of all, they delete all previous tips, and many twitter comments raising a grievance so there is no accountability, and no way for punters to check them out before paying.
Interestingly the Twitter account has just under 120,000 followers. If at a conservative estimate we were to say that 50% of the twitter followers paid for their tips, thats a tidy little £60,000 income.
Totally unjustified for the service they provide. Stay well away….

  53. spuddie 12 years ago

Mr fixit . PP have not settled my bet yet . Had Wycombe and the aband. game . I think its re fixed for today . Will they play the whole game or just the last few minutes . ?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Spuddie, if it’s rescheduled today then their rules state bets will stand as I said last night. In some cases you can have it voided by request. I haven’t checked to see if full game will be played but if it’s next day it will probably be last 16 minutes as they do in to other European countries.

  54. Kag 12 years ago

Was wondering the same thing spuddie!

  55. spuddie 12 years ago

Cant find betting on it. Was gonna try and cover my bet as theres a few quid on it.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Spuddie, from what I see it looks like the last 14 minutes will be played. You might get someone pricing it up now with odds heavily weighted in favour of the draw and I’m sure there will be inrunning bets when its starts considering it’s 0-0.

  56. Craig alves 12 years ago

no max, it’s theitalianotipster, he only does the italian football, mainly serie b but that just came back over a wk ago so was only serie a for first few wks of yr. great strike rate on the NAPs think it’s something lke 12/14 but he’s teaming up wi another 3 tipsters, don’t know if any will be any good so gonna keep an eye on results in 1st couple wk. footballacca, is that not one of the ‘tipsters’ that had to repay the fee after being exposed by badman??? I wouldn’t normally pay anyone for tips but it’s just cos was following this guy for a while and made £ of tips so £10 for a year is value to me, don’t know if they will still charge £10 for the year as new site should be up in between today and Wed

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, as I said last night if the guy makes you money then fine, no harm in paying. Best advice would be to sign up for a month paying no more than a tenner, see how it goes and don’t renew if it doesn’t work out. At the end of the day a tenner is fair enough if you’re getting a few good and sometimes obscure tips, the obscurer the better in many ways.

  57. Max 12 years ago

Fair enough, guess you were a little more clued up than myself. If you know the guy and he’s good for you then that’s what you want. Like Mr F says, if they’re making you money, then you can’t say fairer than that.
