THE Six Nations kicks off today with two cracking clashes either side of the border.
Perennial flops Scotland are for once full of optimism on the back of some decent results and hope to start coach Vern Cotter's final campaign with a win over Ireland at Murrayfield.
The Scots are 11-5 at Boylesports – and 17-20 at Betstars with a +5.5 point handicap – while the away side are 1-2 at the likes of Betfair and William Hill.
In the second game reigning Grand Slam champs England go for their 15th win on the bounce when France visit Twickenham.

Denver Nuggets @ San Antonio Spurs
I’m glad the Nuggets won (and covered) last night, not just because I had a bet on them, but because it adds another reason to take the Spurs tonight.
This is a really tough schedule for the Nuggets, as they travel to San Antonio on a 2nd back to back in 5 nights. The players would have also lost 1 hour in the air, landing in the early hours of the morning.
4th game in 5 nights + sleep deprivation.
When a team hit’s a schedule like this, it doesn’t matter if you’re the Golden State Warriors or Brooklyn Nets – form goes completely out the window.
Spurs have had 1 day rest and are playing their last home game before a 8 game road trip, this is also a big one for Greg Popovich, as he vies to become the coach with most wins with one franchise in NBA history, it’s an huge achievement!
Spurs have been decent on the defensive end in their last 2, letting in just 94 and 86 and I expect much the same tonight, when you factor in tired legs also, I’d be very surprised if the Nuggets surpass 100.
Spurs -10.5 is what the line has opened at Paddy Power, and I’m happy to take that. I really can’t see how Denver keep this one close.
I’ll probably add some more plays on this game later, when more lines open. Spurs 1st Half and the Under could be possibilities.

Sexton and Mahony are out for the Irish, which is a big blow. I thought that Scotland might have a chance anyway after their solid autumn international performances but even more so now. Big Glasgow Warriors contingent in the team who have done so well recently. Worth a punt on the ML, should be a close match.
France are missing their main man in Fofana but still have some quality in the team. England are going for a rexord 18th win on the trot snd I fully expect them to do this regardless of who is injured and who’s not by a clear margin.

This afternoon Kuban entertain Novgorod in what should be a onesided affair! Nizhny Nozgorod are poor this season and languish in 10th position of the VTB. Kuban on the other hand are playing some nice bball and have improved since bringing in Obradovic as head coach. Kuban currently sit 4th but have won their last 11 league games. The reverse fixture between these two finished 66-93.
All-in-all, I see value in the large spread.

This looks too good to moss out on. Cardiff v Worcester. Cardiff have been putting out their junior team in this cup which is a good reason why they’re bottom of their group. U20 six nations has meant they have lost a few of those juniors and reaced them with senior team members. Worcester are also out of the cup and have said they are not focused on the result, just the process of this match. Cardiff are desperate to get a home win in this competition.

Like Raoul the Spurs should be a good play tonight but no markets as yet where I can bet so I’m taking my chances on these two.
The Magic are on a b2b after their win against the Raptors, with Atlanta resting for a day after their win in Houston. Not sure whether they were great against Houston, or Houston just switched off, but no less their fourth quarter comeback was impressive and they should lead through at least three of the four tonight, lets hope the fourth is one of them. Let down spots for both sides but only one team can win and I’ll take home-court.
The Jazz host the Hornets who could be without Kemba Walker who is suffering with an illness. I’d like this bet even if he did play. The Hornets are giving up 116.7 over their last 3, while the Jazz don’t score big points, their defensive effort speaks volumes and should get enough stops to cover the alternate line at home.

The big one tomorrow night in the NFL and despite having two weeks to look at stats, previews and analysis, I’m still fairly stumped. This could be one of the best Super Bowls we’ve seen with two high powered offenses, and I’m still unsure who will come out on top. I’ve got the Pats Super Bowl winners in the running and I’m not willing to take anything too big on a game that’s very hard to determine. If either side wants to win in Houston, they are going to need a strong running game to keep either offense off the field for as-long as possible. While Dion Lewis has split carries with Blount since his return, he has not been that great in the run game. I liked Blounts total a few days ago and since then it’s been raised almost everywhere, so I’m going to take that for an interest. ‘If’ the Pats are leading by two possession in the fourth, they’ll try and chew the clock so I can see Blount getting plenty of touches during and late on. He’s also taken a hit in the TD market with Bwin now offering his best price @ 4/5 to find the end zone.
