Europa League Qualifiers: Over 1.5 goals the focus on tricky card

WE now move into the third round of qualifiers in the Europa League and its a who's who with some massive clubs involved at this early stage – step forward PSV, Espanyol, Feyenoord to name a few.

Having looked through the fixtures it's an absolute minefield with so many what you could describe as evenly-matched clubs playing each other. Like last night the over 1.5 goals market looks the best option.

Aberdeen travel to Croatia and like their previous results I'd expect 2 goals to be scored, especially given the Dons have goal machine Sam Cosgrove in their ranks. Every chance we'll see BTTS.

Torn between the Aberdeen game as a bet builder (2+ goals, 3+ cards, 8+ corners) but just going to focus again on the 1.5 goals market.

Rijeka vs Aberdeen (KO 7pm)

The Dons were resounding 6-1 aggregate winners in the last round but this is much tougher task. They've conceded in both away legs so far and it's hard to see them keeping clean sheet against much tougher opposition.

They may have conceded in 3 of the 4 matches but are having no trouble scoring having found the net 11 times. Six of those were scored by Sam Cosgrove and the big hitman is in the form of his life (27 goals in 32 matches). Aberdeen more than capable of scoring a crucial away goal.

Austria Vienna vs Apollon Limassol (KO 7.3pm)

The Cypriot team made heavy weather of their second-round qualifier and needed extra time to see off Shamrock Rovers. Hardly fills you with confidence when you conceded 3 goals to a Irish side although they have no trouble in finding the net.

It's been a rotten start to the season for Vienna – 2 games, 2 defeats 6 goals conceded  and I don't see them keeping a clean sheet tonight. Neither side strong defensively and that bodes well for at least 2 goals.
