Ahead of matchday three of the Euro 2024 group stages, let's explore the best matches to place correct score bets on, using key trends and recent results to beat the bookies.
Why the Euro 2024 correct score betting is worth exploring
The correct score betting market is one that should always be looked at when gambling on football matches.
The odds for predicting the correct score of a football match are often relatively long, and considering certain teams frequently produce the same scorelines, it's a market which can be taken advantage of with a bit of research.
Betting on the correct score at international tournaments is even more appealing, especially in the group stages.
During matchday three, all teams know exactly what they need to do to qualify for the knockout stages which makes it far easier to predict how each team will play.
This is a market that should most commonly be selected pre-match but is also worth an in-play look under certain circumstances.
For example, if the favourites of a match go 1-0 down early on, then placing a bet on them to win 2-1 or 3-1 can often be advantageous. See Italy against Albania as the perfect example.
Which Euro 2024 games could be of interest here?
Scotland vs Hungary (Scotland 2-1 Hungary)
Scotland did what they needed to do against Switzerland in that they secured a point. That result means a win against Hungary on Sunday night will almost certainly be enough to see them qualify for the knockout stages.
Hungary are the weakest team that Scotland have faced so far at the Euros and can have no complaints about losing both of their matches. Scotland scored exactly two goals in their two warm-up matches before Euro 2024 and we think they'll match that on Sunday.
Hungary have conceded five goals already in the tournament and look vulnerable at the back. However, they are decent going forward so a Scotland clean sheet would be a shock. Hungary have scored 1+ goals in 11 of their last 12 matchs while Scotland's only clean sheet in their last 11 matches came against Gibraltar.
Croatia vs Italy (Croatia 1-1 Italy)
Croatia have been involved in two of the most open matches at Euro 2024 and fared far better in an attacking sense against Spain than Italy did despite the the scoreline being more respective for Luciano Spaletti's men.
Croatia need to beat Italy to qualify for the knockout stages while a point will likely be enough for Italy and when Italian sides only need a draw, they often get it.
Despite that, this shouldn't be a goalless affair based on Croatia's matches at the tournament so far. They have created 2.44 xG against Albania and 2.19 xG against Spain while conceding 1.46 xG to Albania and 1.83 xG to Spain.
Still, it feels unlikely that they will become the first team to score 2+ goals against Italy in eight matches.
England vs Slovenia (England 2-0 Slovenia)
England have played pretty poorly in both of their matches at the tournament so far and changes to the system are expected which should help against Slovenia.
Regardless, Slovenia are the weakest team in Group C and will need to attack England on Tuesday night given that they need a win to progress to the knockout stages. This should mean more space for England attack which will help their attacking players.
One thing that doesn't need any improvement is their defensive work. They kept a clean sheet against Serbia and would have against Denmark, too, were it not for a 30-yard wonder strike from Morten Hjulmand.
Looks good maybe a wee trixie would be best option 👍
