A LOT has said on this site about Dunfermline this week and they've possibly earned more attention than even Hearts and Hibs did last season when they were overpriced for meetings with Rangers.

Anyone following my tips since the start of the season will have cashed in on the Pars. They were my antepost pick for League One and my Super Single at 23-20 and evens respectively for the past two Saturdays.

Last week bookies also went 23-20 but eventually most were a shade of odds on and Dunfermline showed how wrong the odds were with a thumping 6-1 win at Brechin in their league opener.

That followed a 4-1 defeat of Arbroath in the Challenge Cup and 5-1 humbling of Cowdenbeath in the League Cup.

Bookies are beginning to wake up to the Pars' quality but at the start of the week they were 4-5 at bet365 and myself and others quickly advised getting on.

Now the best available price is 4-7 with Coral and if you believe they'll win it's still worth taking but it won't attract many to lump on it as a single. So the question is do you stick with your winnings or take another gamble on the Fife sleeping giants.

It's been interesting reading comments from players and manager Allan Johnston this week. “Magic”, the ex-Kilmarnock boss, insists his men could have played better at Brechin and that's encouraging to hear.

He also says his squad is too small and wants at least two more players before the transfer window closes but they don't have any injury concerns this weekend.

So Pars are likely to feature in my Top Treble and I'll be keen to look at them -1 at 13-10 with Paddy Power and that's a possible Super Single.

One thing to note was Beath trailed just 2-1 at East End Park a fortnight ago when they were reduced to 10 men and conceded three more late goals. But they followed that with a home defeat to Stranraer and have lost all three games this season so clearly aren't in great shape after relegation from the Championship.

I'm happy to go no further than -1 but for anyone interested -2 pays 10-3 at Paddy Power. All three Pars games have been win and btts and that pays 2-1 at McBookie while both to score is 4-5 with the Scots firm and BetVictor.

I'll add team news to this post tomorrow and scorer prices when they become available.

Verdict

Dunfermline have made myself and most punters on here a few quid this season.
Keep to level stakes – and fill your boots again on Saturday.

Best Bet

Dunfermline -1
(13-10, Paddy Power)

Next Best

Dunfermline and btts
(2-1, McBookie)

Mr F, as im sure you know Dunfirmline were available just 2/3 days ago -1 @ 2/1 Paddypower and as you point out that price is long gone but what i have noted that hasnt changed in price yet is Dunfirmile to win/over 1.5 still available at evens paddypower so we are looking them to win by any other score other than 1-0. Evens for this is a giveaway in my humble opinion, youre the scots expert so ill gladly await your thoughts on this. Cheers :)

How about Dunfermline to score in both halves at 11/10 with same firm. A more speculative win both halves is 13/5.

Lads, take dunfermline -2, there will be no slip up, cowdenbeath offer little in attack and will be absolutely torn apart here. Id be worried if they were playing a team in form but cowdenbeath are woeful.

    Dunfermline -2

    Returns 14/5 at William Hill

Good to hear the confidence in Dunfermline remains high – I have them to win @ 4/5 and in a double with the Hearts win (done) at the same odds (bets placed a good few days ago)…

Mr. F Dunfermline is worth making -2 possibly happening with their kind of mouth watering scoring, so best bet is Dunfermline= (-2).

Both Rangers and Dunfermline have supplied me with brilliant profit to the start of the season. Stick!

    Dunfermline/Rangers -1 – 2/1 – £50
    Dunfermline -1/Rangers -1 – 4/1 – £20
    Dunfermline -1/Rangers -2 – 8/1 – £10
    Dunfermline -2/Rangers -2 – 17/1 – £10

Was on Dunfermline last w/e and saw the 4/5 price at the beginning of the week, next time I looked it was 8/13 then 9/20.

4/5 is good value but not the current prices. Tend to think this game will be closer than some think, might go for a small stake score-draw.

Not trying to put a dampener on things but it’s a Fife derby tomorrow so not sure i’ll be going mad stake wise, mad seeing Evens on PP for some of the bets considering the goals they’ve scored so far but it’s still a derby so be careful :-)

John, it was a Fife derby when Dunfermline won 5-1 two weeks ago.
My whole weekend is abut Dunfermline but they owe me nothing.
I almost feel I should go to their game instead of the Bankies!

Personally i’d be cautious about this one, Cowdenbeath know all about Dunfermline & i see them defending in numbers & trying to stay in the game as long as possible…
