Club World Cup semi-final, 7.30pm, Agadir
BAYERN MUNICH launch their bid for the Club World Cup title tonight with what should be a comfortable win against Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
Pep Guardiola has won the tournament twice with Barcelona and wants his men to treat this semi-final in Agadir, Morocco seriously.
I have my doubts about betting on this tournament but a couple of factors to point me towards Bayern on the handicaps – they are too short just to win at 1-9 with Paddy Power.
Firstly, the Bundesliga goes into winter shutdown mode after this weekend so Bayern can relax and treat this as a bit of a holiday. Secondly, all their first-team stars will feature, except, injured Arjen Robben, and all will be stripped for the game.
Marcello Lippi's Evergrande side did well to beat Al Ahly 2-0 in the quarter-finals on Saturday but are probably no better than a mid-table Championship side.
Guangzhou have some decent players, including South Americans Muriqui, Elkeson and Dario Conca, but a clash with the European champions is not one they're going to relish.
Bayern could probably win by as many as they like but they'e unlikely to embarrass the Chinese so a 3-0 or 4-0 is the likely outcome. I'll be on Bayern -2 at 4-5 with Betfred and -3 at 15-8 with bet365.
Before betting on first scorer or anytime scorer check the starting line-up. There is a suggestion Claudio Pizarro will be up front with Mario Mandzukic benched and Frank Ribery could start after missing last weekend's match with Hamburg.
If Ballon D'Or contender Ribery is in there I'll be on him at 5-1 at bet365 to break the deadlock. Pizarro is 4-1 with the same firm.
On the outrights Bayern are no bigger than 2-9 at sportingbet ahead of Atletico MG at 5-1 with bet365.

Sharon, this is fairly standard practise to protect punters from identity fraud. I don’t see the problem – if you prove you are who you are the money will be paid.

Madi. It was initially Lampards, then changed to O.G Cattermole. Lampards shot was from a yard out and on target then Cattermolle has slid in and may have got final touch but extremely hard to call!
